This really should be an issue that unites left and right. Without free speech we are a shell of a country.

As someone once said, its the totalitarian tiptoe, step by step reducing freedom of speech, re-categorising crimes, filtering the news, and introducing censorship.

It is HUGELY ongoing and we need to turn this ship around. Even if you are WRONG you should be allowed free speech, as long as you are not deliberately LYING, which is a very different thing.
I mean even I was wrong once. A few years ago I rememember telling my mate down the pub that if the country voted for something, politicians and the "elite" and event illuminati would accept it. And did they, after that all important poll? Biggest ever? NO. "Boaty McBoatFace" NEVER sailed ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We've been going backwards in this respect for a couple of decades.
The UK is certainly not the land of the free as far as speech is concerned. I certainly avoid having anything to do with people who enjoy extra protection from the law. |

If you mix with public servants these days, you'll notice how guarded they are when they find themselves in a group discussing certain subjects.
They simply do not pass any comment all in most cases, for fear of losing their jobs if their words get to the wrong ears. |

"Boaty McBoatFace" NEVER sailed Yes the organisers of the poll totally underestimated the puerile and childish sense of humour of those that voted ..but for all that they should have stood by the choice A sense of humour is not a bad thing, helps lighten reality at times Humour is not a bad thing, sometimes we need it to lighten up our lives, stops us getting too serious about things |

Something I like about forums and chat rooms is people can express a view that they would not otherwise be able to
There probably have to be some limits but we should keep them to a minimum I feel I also find a lot of people who complain about trolling, more than often deserve it, although of course there have to be some limits but should be kept to the minimum again |

eddy, if you're talking about Trump, you're wide of the mark. I find him amusing but I'm not a fan - he's a buffoon, a narcissist, egomaniac etc. But he's also none of the things the SJWa try to pin on him (waycist, mysogynist, etc) and their BS needs to be called out whenever they spout it - the fact that Trump happens to be their favourite target just means I end up sticking up for him, on some issues.

Platini mentions misogyny - funny thing is it not - they bat on about weinstein, me two, only one group's lives matter, etc yadd yaddada - but virtual silence on one of the most miss odgenous and homophobic groups pass by without any criticism - do you no why?? No wonder - Cos their own people are not aloud to question the word. It is hilarious - so the defenders, like the grundian follow suit by submitting. Politicos dare not - if they do they get demoted and flooded with hate male. And don't for get the 4 million voters they don't want to upset yo ho ho. Merry christmas everyone - I hope I haven't made anyone take a fence by mentioning the strange pagan festive celebrations.
ps arsenal and red bull doing the business - happy days here at the headquarters of MO TOWERS - my staff will now concentrate on the weekends soccerball predictions. |

platini - I have never liked the SJW tag - I mean someone like Rosa Parks was a SJW in the true sense. Can't we just call them what they are - extreme PC ****s. I don't want to take the thread in another direction, but Trump may not personally be a racist. However, he has certainly been an enabler for the racist scum in the US.

Hank, I'll concede that point on the SJWs - it started off from a good place with good intentions (like political correctness and feminism did also) but its been completely hijacked by neo-marxist nutters who are using identity groups to divide and conquer.

I concur on that too platini - I imagine you and I are not altogether too far off on a lot of politics. ps well done on your jammy ropey league qualification
