She will get more than 158 votes so not sure what this would achieve tbh. In fact it'd strengthen her position?

I'd imagine she will receive around 220 votes, cast your betsExcited
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 8:01 AM GMT
i would have to disagree with that number, i have it much closer than that. Strengthen her position? She's toast imo, in fact the best thing she could do, even if she won the vote would be to resign. Just like Thatcher did

Just in case she loses the first?

Report darren_discombobulates_sports December 12, 2018 8:51 AM GMT
She's giving her speech and has come out swinging, there's nothing she's said or done during her tenure to suggest she would resign regardless of the margin of victory, even 1 vote. I don't see where the 158 would come from, seems way off.
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 8:54 AM GMT
that 'speech' she just gave May ell have cost her another 30 votes tonight. That was pathetic!
Report jollyswagman December 12, 2018 8:55 AM GMT
i hope she wins 52 v 48 and that the erg then respect the will of the people (tory MPs)  LaughCrazyCry
Report SontaranStratagem December 12, 2018 9:06 AM GMT
It she loses the first vote she still wont resign

They will have to literally drag her out in a strait jacket

The media calling her a "strong woman" is way way way off

She' ignorant, stubborn and classless, any man in this position would have journalists demanding they resign
Report SontaranStratagem December 12, 2018 9:08 AM GMT
Being done on purpose, and this vote they might even win against her makes sod all difference

And it buys her more time, something nasty might well happen here, to many people are sick to death of all this
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 9:11 AM GMT

With JRM as his right hand man, bring back esther as well, put her on the left side

Esther would get my vote but can see it being Boris IF they win the vote tonight

Bring in Priti Patel as well

But lets be honest May wont resign regardless
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 9:28 AM GMT
hectoratoratora; yes some people seem to forgetting that. The woman has been an absolute disaster for her own party and this country. If the tories back her in any way shape or form tonight, then we all may as well leave the ship
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 9:35 AM GMT
Thatcher was a stoic, hard, determined, singular PM, and she resigned after winning a no confidence vote. The nutcase is none of those things, she's just plain nuts! So who knows what she will do. You would hope some normally pathetic coward who is close to her would give her the right advice. But going on what she's been advised recently, that's a non-starter
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 9:54 AM GMT
it seems Peston has similar feelings as mine on that annus horribilis speech

Robert Peston
@Peston

.@theresa_may wants to be seen as the personification of Brexit. She is saying back me or risk seeing no Brexit. As I said earlier this risks uniting Brexiters and Remainers against her.
Report Baphornet December 12, 2018 10:54 AM GMT
that just about sums the tories up at the moment. Andrew Bridgen walks off set on the BBC and won't engage with James Cleverly. Divisions divisions divisions

Simples. A Conservative gives up their safe seat and Farage gets elected. Farage then becomes leader and PM all before March and then tells Europe to feck off.

Isn't it that the conservatives don't want her to run as PM at the next GE after the last FU.

If she offers her resignation before then, she surely won't lose this vote.

If she doesn't offer her resignation, it'll be a close run vote.

If May cannot count on her own party to carry her Brexit deal through Parliament

Then what is the point of her party continuing to back her as leader????????????

This seems a contradiction to meCrazy

Back her or lose her

The problem is we a hung parliament

However if the Tories continue to back May they at least must ALL support her DEAL she has with the EU to leave

Otherwise they must have another leader they can get behind

I not blaming May myself at the moment
Report UBLE/REGY December 12, 2018 6:31 PM GMT
May will also need support of some other parties to get her DEAL through..

So Tories must ALSO consider this...will she get them?

Or do they need another leader who can do tis?

If the Tories cannot do this

We will need a General Election, perhaps give Corbyn a try?
