a busy week ahead

uncharted waters

should be fun, whatever the outcome.
Report lybertyne December 10, 2018 12:26 AM GMT
Nooooooooooo deal.
Report Baphornet December 10, 2018 12:36 AM GMT
should be, Donny. I just want her gone and out of the political spectrum; she's beginning to warp my thinking. Brexit is now secondary to me

1 for the naes

Stocked up with the popcorn, going to be great just hope may doesn't let me down and there's plenty of carnage!
Report n88uk December 10, 2018 12:38 AM GMT
No deal will not happen. No deal is an out and out bluff and the rhetoric of stuff like "no deal is better than a bad deal" has convinced people it could happen when in reality there's no way it's allowed to happen.
Report donny osmond December 10, 2018 12:41 AM GMT
i've not liked her since she was home sec

still thought she might have done a decent job, but is self self self all the time.

and you cant just be violet elizabeth bott in the real world

wont be sad to see her go, whoever takes over will have a tough job clearing up the mess.

crossrail look like needing another billion too, so more mess, and less wiggle room.

then again, it might suit some to keep her, who knows they may even cave in last minute again
and she survives to cause more mayhem
Report Baphornet December 10, 2018 12:45 AM GMT
god forbid to you last point, Donny. I gree with the others. Surely she will call an election before they hoof her?
Report donny osmond December 10, 2018 12:47 AM GMT
i would like to think if she loses then they say enough is enough and
call a vote of confidence within tory party, i cant see her resigning,but....
Report Baphornet December 10, 2018 12:52 AM GMT
she's just so arrogant that an election might seem like a good idea to her. She knows if she calls one no one will take her on. Self-centred and doesn't give two hoots about her party or the country. Like all of the cabinet tbh
Report n88uk December 10, 2018 12:58 AM GMT
Whoever comes in is going to be hamstrung anyway. The rulings last week have taken power from the PM to do much of anything without parliamentary approval. And whoever comes in will likely split their own party let and out parliament. Unless you can magically find a candidate who will unite all the Tories behind them (does such a candidate even exist?) then they're gonna face problems implementing anything.

I can't see an election being called, it would require some Tories voting for it themselves, and it's way too risky that they'd just be voting themselves out of power. In 2017 they thought they would get a bigger majority, now they would fear losing, and if there's one thing I do assume all the Tories agree on it's that they want to cling to power.

Some people belittle politics as they see it as low skulduggery; others see it as the pursuit of noble causes. Baphornet, you imo consider it the latter because you have always done your best for Britain.
Report n88uk December 10, 2018 1:02 AM GMT
Also an election is a waste of time imo. It won't solve the issues, it will takes us back nearly 2 years to the last general election. You will get 2 parties campaigning on their Brexit vision, neither will clearly win and have a strong mandate for their vision, and that's without even taking into account you'd likely get lies that wouldn't actually be possible. Eg. say Labour won, then what, they're back to the negotiating table to find that their vision doesn't exist so eventually they get some deal along reasonably similar lines to what's already on the table, so we're in the same position as now pretty much.
Report thegiggilo December 10, 2018 1:02 AM GMT
Must be a 100/1 shot an election no chance, the torys are so devious even at this late stage i have no doubt that they have some sort of plan or wriggle room for somethingShocked
Report Baphornet December 10, 2018 1:07 AM GMT
i didn't say an election was a good idea, it was more of a swipe at the nutcase

EvgenyKissin; thank you, i really appreciate thatGrin
Report impossible123 December 10, 2018 9:35 AM GMT
1) If there was a General Election tomorrow most likely a Hung Parliament - The Labour Party with Corbyn and McDonnell at the helm are
un-electable even for some hard-line Labour supporters.

2) Leave The EU on the present deal will create distrust on both sides ie Britain and The EU

3) Leave without a deal will create even more uncertainties than (2)

4) A 2nd Referendum will only re-affirm the split in the nation for Brexit; it will not achieve anything except timewasting

5) To Remain ie no Brexit after 2016 Referendum result will make a mockery of democracy, and purpose of future Referendums

And about 2 hours ago an official No.10 spokeswoman said "The vote's going ahead as planned" Nobody seems to know what she is doing !!
