you've already won. you shouldn't have to win again.

there should be no second vote.

I doubt that would be the question. Having an open to interpretation question like that has led to the issues, so it makes no sense to make the same mistake again. You'd do what if parliament vote down May's deal, stop no deal, then you have this vote, if leave won then what, you'd just be back where you started. You need it to be clear what leave entails on the ballot paper.

With the Remainer hijack of Brexit and politicians telling the population (in the biggest democratic exercise the UK has undergone in modern times) what they actually voted for it's worth remembering what the question on the ballot paper actually was:

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?

Remain a member of the European Union
Leave the European Union

So that wasn't:

Norway plus
Remain
BRINO
Leave but have the ECJ still having supreme leagal judgement over this country
England leave but the reast of the UK stay
Leave - but Richard Branson, Gina Miller, Tony Blair, Alistair Campbell and Patrick Stewart have special privileges
Leave -  but.....(add in your own sectional interest, ghetto area, reasonable sounding but actually not soundbyte)

Furthermore, David Cameron renegotiated our terms of membership with the EU. He then lad the campaign for us to Remain, explained how we should all take this very seriously and how this was to be a once in a lifetime vote, settling our membership of the EU once and for all.

All the apparatus of the state was wheeled out to bolster the Remain vote.

Paddy Ashdown, who said shortly before the referendum result came through: ‘I will forgive no one who does not respect the sovereign voice of the British people once it has spoken. Whether it is a majority of 1 per cent or 20 per cent, when the British people have spoken, you do what they command. Either you believe in democracy or you don’t.’

He’s changed his mind now.

As has Anna Soubry. ‘We are trusting the British people. We will go to the people, and let the people decide whether or not to stay within the EU.’ That was in 2015. Now listen to her: she backed the referendum ‘only because I thought we would win. Obviously, I wouldn’t have if I thought we would lose.’

Aaah, OK, Anna, got you. Democracy is a sh1t, isn’t it?

And John Major. You remember John.  — introduced the motorway cones hotline and a back-to-basics campaign while doing Edwina Currie.  What did John have to say about the referendum at the time? ‘There will not be another referendum on Europe. This is it.’

All of them now agree, then, that we should have a second vote solely — solely — because they did not like the result of the first one.

Rather than have a second (well, actually, a third) referendum, why not try implementing the result of the last one?

And if politicians are too lazy, thick, arrogant, anti-democratic, two-faced or self-serving - change the politicians.

Thinking of going back into the EU now would be like a family considering going back into a burning building because the weathers cold.

These nation haters are unbelievable.

No deal is better than a bad deal so get on with it.
Report donny osmond December 10, 2018 9:11 AM GMT
why not just give an ultimatum that if we dont get a deal
during the two years of transition then we will just leave
on no deal terms.

therefore no need for a backstop.

if we need to make the transition period up to three years instead
of two, then state that before issuing the ultimatum.

we will get a deal, because everybody wants a deal, and it will
concentrate minds to the job in hand.

how or what we leave with is irrelevant, to should there be another vote it was put to the country and the vote was leave, either this is a democratic country or it isn't. So every time in the future we have an election if you don't like the result demand another one until your team wins pathetic the people spoke remainers stop crying like babies and except democracy.
Report Jack Hacksaw December 10, 2018 6:40 PM GMT
We have already voted to leave.

If there is another vote it should only be

a) May's offering
b) No deal

The remainers can vote for May's deal if they  like.

What would have been the question on a second referendum if we had voted to stay?
