Have to disagree lfc no need to gloat over the collapse of the USSR. It's a shame he didn't get a second term so that he could of worked to integrating the Russians. Instead subsequent Presidents expanded NATO and now we have the situation that faces us today.

My main objection to G H W.Bush is the Gulf War.

Of course Iraq had invaded Kuwait and war was justified.
But it was the conduct of the war, there a deliberate attempt to maximise Iraq casualties.
This even continued when the Iraq army were attempting to return to Iraq.

Of course in war we have to kill enemy soldiers, but I regard what happened in the Gulf War was excessive.

This was the base cause of 9/11.

The reason for this maximising of enemy casualties, people will either see or they won't

Base cause for 9/11 was US troops setting foot on Saudi soil. As for the carnage, yes it was excessive but the troops returning from Kuwait where laden down with their spoils of war and had committed many atrocities in Kuwait.

Iraq and the Iraq soldiers were fortunate that it was America they faced , they had committed atrocities in Kuwait , mass acts of rape and torture  and executions of men woman and even children
Many were never brought to account for their evil actions but it was George Bush and the America troops who put an end to their oppression of Kuwaitis , be thankful

My objection was the excessive number of Iraqi soldiers killed in the Gulf War

The estimates start at 100,000 and work up, the US lost 383 soldiers.

I would have objected whoever did this whether us or them..I thought it was unnecessary, I still do.
