Try watching They Fought For their Motherland or Destiny Of Man. There are many brilliant Russian war films if you look for them. But Americans are parochial by nature.

The Russians along with Germany started WW2 , never forget that treachery
|
|
By:
They fought within Russia , while Britain and America fought in Europe and Asia in Africa and in China in the east and the west throughout the world and then when the war was all but won the Russians ventured out into Europe
And then enslaved millions there as well Don’t forget that |
|
By:
Show some respect for the millions of people they imprisoned and enslaved and murdered

Think the Germans turned on them, still thankfully the Germans don't do that to their friends today

I show respect for America, Russia, Britain, France and their Allies and China who bravely defeated Japan and Germany to maintain our freedom, you don`t.

Show some respect for the millions of people they imprisoned and enslaved and murdered
Wonder if anyone will say the same about us when Corbyn and McDonnell get in ![]() |

I apologise for mentioning those two numptys on a thread respecting a great man

China defeated Japan because of one thing , they had massive help from America including American military lives lost , and planes and guns and boats etc
And when the war ended America did not take one inch of Chinese territory , and indeed forced returned terrority that Japan has taken prior to the war That’s how it was , unlike Russia |

Who bankrolled the Nazis?

Tbf the Americans bottled it. Churchill wanted to push the Russians back but the Yanks said no

The Russians were never the Germans friends. Hitler like lfc despised the Russians and Bolshevism, the Ribbentrop Pact was merely a deal of convenience for both. Hitler got to invade without the Russians aiding Poland and the Russians got a buffer zone between them and Germany. The Poles were sold out and attacked by all.

|
By:
mm you can waffle all you like , the Russians took 60% of Poland and Germany took 40
Starting WW2 |

Show some respect. well said mightymac, people should not forget that |

Anyway, this is not the time to debate WW2, especially on a tribute thread for someone who has just passed away, whether you liked them or not. My old granny used to say, "If you don`t have anything positive to say about someone who has died, then say nowt". Condolences to his family who I`m sure, like any family, are hurting right now.

that’s better

I"d better shut up then Mightymac

Wasn't Mr Bush the first to talk about the NWO?
Anyway that convinced me to back Global Citizen at Newbury |

Russia was in no state to fight a war when Hitler started, Stalin knew this.
He had shot most of his own officers for one thing. Stalin was buying time, although he did not mind taking half of Poland, although when the war finished we gave the other half? It is difficult to defend Stalin as a human being, but it was his armies deafaeted the Germans not ours |
|
By:
Sorry this is a thread to George Bush as mm has reminded us.
For Today we show must respect for him and condolences for his family, he can be judged at a later date. |
|
By:
^ now there’s not much point in having a thread that just says that now is there ?
|
|
By:
Yep, be careful what you say today about Mr Bush on here...
There is,after all about a 1 in 5 billion chance that one of his family is reading this thread |
|
By:
Think he might be judged already

MeccaYou think we should not discuss his pros and cons today lfc1971 Well I have more cons than pros myself, I will start in early tomorrow, after midnight ![]() |

i don't see any problem discussing the 41st Presidents achievements & failures. I just wouldn't like to see the topic taking a vulgar turn; as it was earlier

Decent man. RIP.

Has facts sad trolling now been reduced to just two words?
"A warmonger" Has there even been a more inappropriate username? Given Bush was the man in charge who ENDED the cold war. Unless Facots of course meant "war hero"? Given, he actually DID fight in ww2 as a naval pilot, and was shot down and famously saved by a submarine? |
|
By:
PS obviously many links on Bush being picked up by a submarine but here's one anyway:

By:
have to agree with the above, tbh. One thing i would never call him was a warmonger, but each to his own
|
|
By:
Maybe Facts thinks that he should have let Hussein casually invade his neighbours and let his troops go on a looting and r@pe rampage through their capitals?
I'm guessing it'll be the usual leftie double standard where when Iraq invades a country to occupy it and get their oil, and the US kicks them out losing their own men in combat and at great financial cost, then leaves the country, the US is the "bad guy" and it's "about oil".... |
|
By:
Typical lefty, bitter for bitterness sake and that's a fact
see what I did there ![]() |

My main objection to G H W.Bush is the Gulf War.
Of course Iraq had invaded Kuwait and war was justified. But it was the conduct of the war, there a deliberate attempt to maximise Iraq casualties. This even continued when the Iraq army were attempting to return to Iraq. Of course in war we have to kill enemy soldiers, but I regard what happened in the Gulf War was excessive. This was the base cause of 9/11. The reason for this maximising of enemy casualties, people will either see or they won't I will not enlighten anyone, but I can see why. Only my own opinion as usual. |
|
By:
and you are fully entitled to it, UR
|
|
By:
Base cause for 9/11 was US troops setting foot on Saudi soil. As for the carnage, yes it was excessive but the troops returning from Kuwait where laden down with their spoils of war and had committed many atrocities in Kuwait.
|
|
By:
Iraq and the Iraq soldiers were fortunate that it was America they faced , they had committed atrocities in Kuwait , mass acts of rape and torture and executions of men woman and even children
Many were never brought to account for their evil actions but it was George Bush and the America troops who put an end to their oppression of Kuwaitis , be thankful |

nice to see the president has been invited to the funeral
