I know half the forum will think it's fake and also that there will be a delay of a few minutes because of the great distance.

It'll be out of contact for the 7 minutes of landing.  Only after that will they know if its Ok.

Landing in about 40 minutes.

Was more like live radio plus pictures of the people in the control room. Not quite what I had hoped for.

Yeah, watched it on NASA site. A good landing but as you say not very exciting pictures.

Do they have any racing there yet?

Would be cool with a probe race.

Looking for signs of life .....really means gold/platinum/oil/anything that can be stuffed in a warhead to further destroy mankind ....a worthy mission IMO.

apparently 6 months according to my google researching skills.

It took 7 months. DIstance varies between 54.6 and 401 million kilometers.

Think they said 7, but may have been 6.

The pictures were a bit ropey but I could definitely make out a voice .......... "Are we nearly there yet ?"
