Gibraltar's government said: "The deep and unbreakable bonds that bind the United Kingdom and Gibraltar together have not been in any way, and will not be in any way, diluted as a result of our common departure from the EU.
"Brexit will have no effect on the British sovereignty of Gibraltar and the waters that surround it.

Not exactly "caving in"

That's a statement from the Gibraltar government.
Could be seen as being in defiance of Mays concession to the Spanish.
But the point remains that May gave ground on the issue.

May said this hasn't changed anything. She said the same about the Irish border concession.

The Spanish are now talking about joint sovereignty.

Never going to happen.

Spain needs us more than we need them.

btw, people on twitter are now saying The Falklands will be next. I know that's irrelevant to this problem but the depth of hatred for this PM is getting decidedly dangerous

rhis is from Tom Newton Dunn

So Spain gets its veto on any future EU trade deal for Gibraltar after all - an original A50 demand. HMG opposed this for two years, but concedes defeat at the very last moment. Not an ideal look.

this is what Spain wanted and got! I apologise it's a link but i couldn't c&p it

From The Manchester Pravda for Labour:

"The development gives Spain a veto over Gibraltar benefiting from a future trade and security agreement between Brussels and the British government.

The Spanish leader, Pedro Sánchez, reacted immediately, claiming the UK would now have to open talks on “joint sovereignty” of Gibraltar".

Is May TRYING to appear weak and feeble, like a sort of inverse Queen Elizabeth 1?

Its getting pretty pathetic that she's still allowed to stumble around

Thatcher may have been many things but weak wasn't one of them

May is a bigger bumbling fool than dear old Gordon Brown (who famously said "save the world" ffs)

I'd say the psychology as a remainer is such that she'll bow to anything to get a "deal" across.
The correct response to spain was "Pisso offo".

that's exactly how i see it. She will do just about anything to 'complete the deal' and her name will be consigned to the annals of British Political History. Or am i being sceptical?

Most. Labour have given up on Brexit and just want an excuse to try and force a GE for their own ends, they never shut up about it. The SNP always want to maximise difficulty so they'll be against. Then the Tories are split. Snowballs chance of passing so it's all a waste of time.

If this deal passes it'll be the end of this government, we know Corbyn hates it and if any of his lot vote for it they should be banished from the Labour party imo

take away all our opinions and political views; keep an open mind, and please just look at her recent 'performances' sound bites and vocal blabs. Then honestly appraise your own opinion of her state of mind

I heard a commentator yesterday say 88 Tory MPs are expected to either vote against the deal or abstain.

She is of course under huge pressure trying to solve a problem that is virtually impossible to solve, and the entire country is hanging on her.

(that's if of course she IS trying to solve it and not just ****ing it up to get remain by the back door!).

the reason i asked you all to form an opinion is; we had some friends around for dinner the other night and i asked them the same questions. One of the dinner guests is a GP, another has always said she can read body signals like no other, and some other pretty learned folk. By the time the evening finished i'd pretty much convinced all of them that the PM is barkingLaugh

i must be the most stupidest man in the uk but there,s only 2 possible outcomes and both end up in the same place

the deal gets rejected may and really the cabinet whov,e endorsed the deal should go starting the process towards a GE
the deal gets passed and the dup get up from under the bus and remove their support for the government, starting the process toiwards a GE

AS for appealing to the country above the heads of her own mp,s, instead of a nazi style one sided propaganda machine, she if she wanted to involve the public could have either a 2nd reff, general election ,where people can hear the views of both sides
