scandy, if 'all countries need skilled and unskilled immigrants', why don't they all stay where they are and save the expense of transporting them past each other? I think exactly the same when I am heading over the Pennines on the M62, thousands of workers heading both ways every morning at such a cost.

different places need different skilled workers, and some places pay more than others and have better working conditions and rights.
