The saying goes theres a fine line between genius and madness and Gazzas dipped his toe all too briefly in the genius pool but unfortunately is drowning in the madness pool.

Shocking example of someone who had a massive void in his life after his playing career was over.obviously not suited to management or media pity the FA couldn’t have sort him out a role working with the kids.

Not sure he'd have the correct mentality in this day and age look at the bother Beardsley got himself into and he'd be seen as sensible.

It is amazing he was as good a football as he was Paul Gascoigne, considering his mental fragility

I notice his missus walked out on him when the good times finished just like Frank Brunos?

It seemed he comforted a woman on a train by putting his arm round her and pecking her on the cheek after someone

called her a fat cow.

Poor old Gazza he walks into it

I wish him well, he was great at his bestHappy

The media still like to get stuck in. ITV Calendar (Yorks) had a man on location at York railway station-where Gazza boarded the train- to do his piece to camera, despite the 'offence' and Court hearing being in County Durham. Voles.

The guy has been an embarrassment to himself and the North East for well over 20 years. Best option would be to stick him in a padded cell in a mental institution;I very much doubt he'll ever be capable of looking after himself.

Football is awash with money, a shame it can't look after damaged former heroes.
By:

he's made so many mistakes quite simply because he's has low intelligence, I don't mean that to come across as snobby in any way but you only have to listen to him talk and the way he was as a 'character', very easily led as well, couple that with drink and it's a dangerous cocktail. Now he's career is long since gone and the hangers on have faded away he's left to his own devices and it doesn't surprise me he can't cope  on his own without the one drug that kept him going which was football.

Money aside, it must be difficult for players to retire mid 30's because they can't do it anymore at the top level, most footballers say they miss the training more than the matches, going to work everyday and having a laugh with your mates, having structure to your life, something to get up for and look forward to, then when all that's cut off, can understand why some footballers become depressed or go off the rails, instead of going to training in the morning they're forced to watch Jeremy Kyle by themselves.

No one is forced to watch Jeremy Kyle. Is there anything stopping him joining a gym and working out and socialising with the other members?
By:
scandanavian_haven
When: 20 Nov 18 15:56
doubt the gym would stimulate him and all the friends he thought he has like 5 bellies and Chris Evans jumped ship years ago.

He's never really known who he is or what he has to do to live a 'normal' life which can never be the case given his mentality, don't think people help him by expecting him to play up to being 'Gazza' all the time and the constant references you hear to the past just make it worse.
The mental health issues and alcolism/drug abuse came after he was famous can't say for sure whether those issues would've materialised to this extent probably not due to money, now no way back just going through the classic addict cycle of repeating behaviour until going too far and death not much can be done now imo.

Good posts from Scand and Denzil.Even someone of above average intelligence would struggle with coming down from his once celebrated position.
(put up there by the tabloids and others of his ilk )
Interesting how the press are all now leading with the "gazza is a nutter" headlines, but for
some others its about their brave fight against autism/depression/addiction.

Typified by JD who already has him as a sex offender before hes even been to court Angry

He was knocking his wife black and blue when he was at the peak of his career
and earning thousands. Fk all to do with him now having a void.

Could have been known as a great player, but just like Rooney, had no discipline.

Though I must admit, I get a feeling that the girl is after a few bob or two.

Doesn't matter what team anyone supports, it doesn't alter the facts.

He beat his wife black and blue numerous times whilst at the top of his career.

He's also a convicted racist and now most likely a sex offender. Had more chances than most in life but continues to
throw them back in everyone's faces who has tried to help him. Don't have to be a Celtic fan to realise he's a ****.
