She would carry on if she won by the slimmist possible margin, she's that stubborn.
By:
even the loyalists (at the moment) would queue up to tell her she has to go if she didn't win convincingly
By:
they're barely managing to get 48 in, apparently only roughly around 20, so I can't see how suddenly everyone who hasn't put in a letter would suddenly vote against her, because by not putting in a letter you are endorsing her position.
By:
some guy on Sky news just said that her aids close to her said even if she won by 1 vote she'd take it
By:
scandinaian_haven: the 20 you quote are just those who are admitting they put letters in.
By:
I know, but even after yesterday's furore, if it's not 48 by now, doesn't seem likely it will happen.
By:
but it is i think. Everything suggests it is; and more. I think the more they get the better. She won't resign; but anyone 'normal' if they had like 70 letters against them; they would very likely resign
By:
can't see why backbenchers would stand by her especially any in remotely marginal constituencies. they'll be annihilated at the next election if this deal stands under her or any other leader
By:
mafeking: i'd like to know why 5 supposed 'Brexiteer' MPs are standing by her? Makes absolutely no sense to me. They keep on saying (like my opening post) "I want to stay in government and make sure we get the best deal for the country" Good luck with that project as The Countess of Bathory has already stated many times she's not for budging. So they must just be staying in Cabinet to push her agenda, no?
By:
it is all rather baffling. if they resigned on masse she'd have to go. you can't carry on with no ministers. as it is struggling to find anyone to do the brexit job now. gove especially seems to change his mind every 5 minutes. i wouldn't wanna be relying on him
By:
i wouldn't trust him with my trifle, mafeking
By:
she doesn't need anyone to do the brexit job does she because it all comes from N°10, as Raab found out, he was just the glorified messenger boy

yes very true. If he had any pride he would have gone then.

By:
Rees-mogg looks like a bit stupid now making his public declaration thinking it would trigger a landslide of letters to follow it. May's been phoning hundreds of mp's to persuade them of the deal - anyone that's handed one in can withdraw it, she may have reversed it before it was too late.
By:
the guy who receives the letters does not have to announce when there is 48 or over, until he feels like or wants to. There could be 150 in by now and whoever is PM will be given the opportunity to 'cajole' 'banjo' or kiss passionately with her ogress whips. This is why i knew yesterday morning when the whips were told to get their tails and cloven hooves back to Westminster that 48 had been hit. The letter senders would never go in with just 48 as have you rightly said, SH, pressure is always put on to back down-conform or get a viewing via ipad of their sordid misdemeanours; maybe. There wasn't much chance of anything happening Friday because most of the incumbents toddle back to their constituencies for the weekend.

Loathsome Leadsom is "Absolutely determined" to support PM May in getting "The best possible" Brexit deal for the UK.
"The prosecution rests M'lud" |

By:
The DUP abstained on voting tonight in a budget amendment which the government lost. A Shot across the bows to the PM, no doubt. A few resignations today and a visit to No10 for IDS and his entourage; what to discuss today - who knows as i do not believe the reasons given. Loathsome Leadsom is quiet isn't she? There's absolutely no excuse for the 'Pizza Five' to still be in the cabinet. I hope when it come to voting in the next election their constituents remember.
By:
the government has just bottled a vote in the finance bill and submitted to all three 'requests' from the SNP and Labour. The DUP is going to bring them down without a struggle if this continues.

the PM is off to Brussels to maybe find a magic solution to the backstop problem? Do not be surprised if this happens even though both sides have said it's non-negotiable. She's far too smarmy still

This "political declaration" the nutjob was prattling on about today isn't a legal document. The withdrawal agreement is! There is of course a massive difference. Only other nutjobs would agree to sign the PD and only a madhouse shut-in would sign the latter

it's now official; not that i've eve disputed it, but the withdrawal agreement can not, and will not be changed! Now can some kind person remind me why Loathsome Leadsom and her 4 pizza buddies, are still in the cabinet? What a filthy lying crew they are

i've only just noticed my spelling of excuse on the topic page![]() |

the nutjob has now given up on the parliamentary vote, and has now resorted to threats. Apparently we will "End up back at square one" if we don't conform to the inane wishes of her puddled mass. Has Loathsome Leadsom left the country?

well well well & surprise surprise surprise; Loathsome Leadsom, remember her? The chief topic of this topic, has finally revealed her true colours and is backing the nutcase. How utterly disgusting a creature this is. I asked earlier why are they staying in the cabinet and now you all know why. I hope her constituents, remain & leave, remember these moments from the ultra traitorous turncoat. Vomit inducing

He stated "The plan was "not in the British national interest" and that voting for it would "set ourselves up for failure" by surrendering "our voice, our vote and our veto".
He also said: "Britain will end up worse off, transformed from rule makers into rule takers. It is a democratic deficit and a loss of sovereignty the public will rightly never accept." |
