they're barely managing to get 48 in, apparently only roughly around 20, so I can't see how suddenly everyone who hasn't put in a letter would suddenly vote against her, because by not putting in a letter you are endorsing her position.

but it is i think. Everything suggests it is; and more. I think the more they get the better. She won't resign; but anyone 'normal' if they had like 70 letters against them; they would very likely resign

mafeking: i'd like to know why 5 supposed 'Brexiteer' MPs are standing by her? Makes absolutely no sense to me. They keep on saying (like my opening post) "I want to stay in government and make sure we get the best deal for the country" Good luck with that project as The Countess of Bathory has already stated many times she's not for budging. So they must just be staying in Cabinet to push her agenda, no?

it is all rather baffling. if they resigned on masse she'd have to go. you can't carry on with no ministers. as it is struggling to find anyone to do the brexit job now. gove especially seems to change his mind every 5 minutes. i wouldn't wanna be relying on him

Rees-mogg looks like a bit stupid now making his public declaration thinking it would trigger a landslide of letters to follow it. May's been phoning hundreds of mp's to persuade them of the deal - anyone that's handed one in can withdraw it, she may have reversed it before it was too late.

the guy who receives the letters does not have to announce when there is 48 or over, until he feels like or wants to. There could be 150 in by now and whoever is PM will be given the opportunity to 'cajole' 'banjo' or kiss passionately with her ogress whips. This is why i knew yesterday morning when the whips were told to get their tails and cloven hooves back to Westminster that 48 had been hit. The letter senders would never go in with just 48 as have you rightly said, SH, pressure is always put on to back down-conform or get a viewing via ipad of their sordid misdemeanours; maybe. There wasn't much chance of anything happening Friday because most of the incumbents toddle back to their constituencies for the weekend.

The DUP abstained on voting tonight in a budget amendment which the government lost. A Shot across the bows to the PM, no doubt. A few resignations today and a visit to No10 for IDS and his entourage; what to discuss today - who knows as i do not believe the reasons given. Loathsome Leadsom is quiet isn't she? There's absolutely no excuse for the 'Pizza Five' to still be in the cabinet. I hope when it come to voting in the next election their constituents remember.

the government has just bottled a vote in the finance bill and submitted to all three 'requests' from the SNP and Labour. The DUP is going to bring them down without a struggle if this continues.
