You'd think that lfc1971 would be more sympathetic towards local nutters.

Firearms residue expert Professor Marco Morin says the single particle taken from Barry George's coat may not have even come from a gun.

Did you miss this out lfc?

I know that , but the particle that was found on the inside pocket of his coat barium, aluminium and lead were the same particles found on Jill Dandos hair and coat

he is a decent suspect, but there is not enough evidence to convict

he was not allowed compensation as judges felt a jury could find him guilty if the evidence
was put before them and they were properly directed by trial judge

Jurors heard that George had an IQ of 75 - in the lowest 5% of the population. In memory and other tests, he came in the bottom 1% of the population.

The defence argued that he was incapable of such a sophisticated killing, which involved detailed planning and specialist bullets.

i.q. of 75 still puts him above most people on this forum

It is lucky for the suspect we have abolished hanging.

Else winning an appeal would not have done him a lot of good.

Either he was innocent or the police just did not come up with enough evidence to close their case.

Maybe is was not there?

Even without hanging there needs to be enough evidence to remove any doubt of gift.

If there is still enough doubt the defendent gets it.

he was able to plan and carry out other crimes, i think he was diagnosed
as autistic or aspergers shortly before his trial so iq tests wouldnt really
be accurate in his case.

it may be he was set up by somebody to be a patsy, but he does seem
to have been around the area at the time

likely to be loads of cctv if it happened today as seen with those russians
in salisbury, but possible we will never find out who did this.

Imagine being a very hardened criminal, who thinks he's got away with murder, then his case is being put up on Crimewatch with a audience of millions, detailing as much information as possible about his case including a photo fit - and that person was then caught and sentence to life in prison

It seems to me that the cuprit was a close associate, possibly family member, of a convicted criminal who was convicted after appearing on Crimewatch with Jill Dando pleading for information on him.

An act of revenge is the likeliest scenario.

I subscribe to the theory that Jimmy Savile hired a hit man to shoot her .

Hamish Campbell was 1 of the detectives working on the case. Also worked on the disappearance of Maddie McCann.

Currently working as a commissioner in Jamaica. Nice work if you can get it

Alan Farthing and Jill were engaged. He went on to deliver the royal baby (Kate's 1st).

One of the theories as mentioned is her possible desire to break open the paedo ring in the BBC. Did it include Parliament and...the royal family??

Murdered Crimewatch presenter Jill Dando tried to get BBC bosses to investigate an alleged paedophile ring in the corporation, it has today been claimed.

A former friend and retired BBC worker has claimed that the television host was told that 'big name stars' and BBC staff were involved in abuse.

But when she tried to get her superiors to investigate, and handed a file to senior management, no action was taken, the source claims.

One Clarence Mitchell was the first reporter at Jill Dandos murder scene, apparently. He was working for the BBC at the time.
Three days after Madeleine McCann was reported missing, Mitchell was asked by then Prime Minister Tony Blair to cease his full-time job as Head of the Media Monitoring Unit and work full-time on public relations and reputation management for the McCanns

Dando was killed with a single muffled bullet to the skull and neighbours found her in a pool of blood on her doorstep in a crime that shocked Britain.

- Doesn't get more professional than that.Sad

One things for sure, nobody on this thread has cut too close to the bone, otherwise the thread would have been deleted.
