if you genuinely believe someone may be about to take their own life then you would need to contact the police. They can at least intervene immediately, force entry to a property if required and if needed take them into protective custody under the mental health act. if this is not genuine then you maybe need sectioned yourself.

I can't give personal advice or nor would I try, however; I do have a friend, an American Psychologist, who advised me that the warning signs for suicide are not so much people saying they want to commit suicide, as saying how they want to do it. Once they enter this latter region they need help, and quick.

My son said he spoke last night, and again this morning, and says he is in a bad way.

I've made him speak to the Samaritans twice. He says he has done anyway.....He's smashed
The thing is... his life genuinely is in tatters
You know his mum died when on or leading a horse when he was 16...
Then he had his accident and coma
Then his dad hung himself
He hasn't seen his kids in about 6 months
He's probably going to get sacked How the hell can anyone talk him around from that?!
James is picking him up, and taking him to stay at his, for a few days, as his wife and kids will be there, because of school holidays, so hopefully that will bring him to his sensess!

Perhaps he could get help from the mental health system, but getting help is very hard now...money
