Suicide concern.....

....just to say that my son is not 942 but 42.....

if you genuinely believe someone may be about to take their own life then you would need to contact the police.
They can at least intervene immediately, force entry to a property if required and if needed take them into
protective custody under the mental health act.
if this is not genuine then you maybe need sectioned yourself.

I can't give personal advice or nor would I try,  however; I do have a friend, an American Psychologist, who advised me that the warning signs for suicide are not so much people saying they want to commit suicide, as saying how they want to do it. Once they enter this latter region they need help, and quick.

Probably good advice, but clearly shouldn't have posted on here!

My son said he spoke last night, and again this morning, and says he is in a bad way.

A work colleague says he is on his way over right now, so time will tell

This, the latest from James....

I've made him speak to the Samaritans twice. He says he has done anyway.....He's smashed

The thing is... his life genuinely is in tatters

You know his mum died when on or leading a horse when he was 16...

Then he had his accident and coma

Then his dad hung himself

He hasn't seen his kids in about 6 months

He's probably going to get sacked
How the hell can anyone talk him around from that?!

James is picking him up, and taking him to stay at his, for a few days, as his wife and kids will be there,
because of school holidays, so hopefully that will bring him to his sensess!

The reality is that you can't solve other peoples problems you can only be there and sometimes that's enough.

Hopefully he has been averted from immediate suicide, I would say it was right to call the police...

Perhaps he could get help from the mental health system, but getting help is very hard now...money

He needs a psychologist long term to help him deal with his problems, perhaps????

Whether he will get one on NHS I don't know....

Does the Guy have any other Family  ??  If so I would get them involved, Brother or Sister ...

Is he drinking or taking Drugs  Prescribed or Otherwise ??
