Interesting saddo, I read a great piece last week in a Pakistani newspaper about the failure of the engagement/moderation idea.

Strange the perception people have of Pakistan - any Islamist Party that stands there is doomed to fail, the country is mostly moderate, in fact Imran the swordsman is Prime Minister.

There is no need for women to work': Afghan TV show takes on patriarchy

Roya wants to take a job in a local media company, but her father and brother aren’t keen. “What is the need for a young girl to work outside?” asks her father, seated on a toushak, the traditional Afghan low-seating cushions, sipping the customary post-dinner chai. Her brother chimes in with an answer. “There is no need for women to work,” he says.

It doesn't matter if the majority are moderate jed. If you have a few million nutters they will cause havoc, and have been doing since this woman was released. A man travelled from Bradford to behead a moderate Muslim in Glasgow not long ago, for being moderate.

As a country we tolerate millions of people who think like this, while trying to jail someone who wants to confront their medieval beliefs.Crazy

Asylum in the UK .....we will no doubt spend a fortune on guarding them  , because there will be plenty in our country with the same views.

The 3 (or is it 6) million must not be upset by any decision our government makes, that is the reality.

Our suicidal Political Elite know damn well they can't guarantee her safety.

Here's the discussion in (Yes) Westminster:

'Shall we do the right thing Humphrey?' 'A brave option Minister. Some might say noble. But when all is said and done I would advise against. Security is a tricky business.. '

Still they refuse to grant this girl asylum,  we really do need a protest on the streets about this. We have maybe had and long and rich history of doing the right thing.
