"Officials have since agreed to bar Ms Bibi from leaving Pakistan in order to end violent protests over the ruling.

Campaigners blasted the deal as akin to signing her "death warrant".

Asia Bibi was convicted in 2010 of insulting the Prophet Muhammad during a row with neighbours, and many are calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty following her acquittal.

Mr Mulook told the BBC earlier this week she would need to move to a Western country for her own safety. A number of attempts have previously been made on her life.

Several countries have offered her asylum."

I hope we're one of them and that she accepts.

Sounds like a reasonable country to give over a hundred million to in aid.

Would she even want to come here, Dan?

Whatever, these are the type of people to whom we should be giving asylum.  Not 30 year old school boys in Ipswich Angry

The husband of a Pakistani Christian woman acquitted on charges of blasphemy has begged Theresa May to grant his wife and their family asylum in the UK.

What happens if we give her and her family asylum Probably hundreds more "in fear of their life " will ask for it and of course a precedent will be set
How much money  will then be spent keeping her safe

I'd happily contribute more tax for people like her. Hordes of nutters calling her for to be hanged for insulting Mo is disgusting.

And we wonder why Islam is not criticised here.. Ask Salman Rushdie..They use violence to shut down debate.

Mick,

That is exactly what refugee status is supposed to be for. People in fear of their lives.

It is strange all the fuss (rightfully) over the Saudi actions in Turkey yet there is never sanctions for countries that allow child marriage and death penalties for expressing an opinion.

I'm with Injera.
Not sure how this would be setting a precedent given how many people we have given asylum to in similar circumstances.

What a basket case of a country, think a big percentage of its residents would happily get rid of anyone who wasn't a muslim.

this is what a real refugee looks like. we need to be helping these people, instead of rolling out the red carpet to the hordes of frauds and rapeugees.

Sorry but i don't agree..I think we should not accept any more asylum seekers  This is a small island and now thousands of homes are going to be built on green belt land. The population will increase even if no one else arrives and open spaces will be no more
Countries like the USA have plenty of space Why not go there?

It’s our duty to help her and we should be happy to help her

We've allowed our country to be flooded with people exactly the same as these religious fanatics.

And they're busy getting themselves into positions of power.

Farage got into trouble 3 years ago saying we should grant asylum to some of the Christian refugees from Syria. The argument being they would more likely integrate here than others.

He was called an Islamaphobe Sad

This brave lady and her lawyer would be an asset to this country.

Meanwhile we're paying millions on Choudray's incarceration and now his highly supervised existence. We're also paying for his wife and several kids.

Utter madness.

We have enough nutters here that would be to kill the lady in question for a fatwa issued by a demonic mullah seeking attention.

Saw a BBC "isn't pakistan great" program the other day where they were talking to entrepeneurs and the like and they were saying that Pakistan gets a bad press and it's nothing like the foreign (i.e. our) media try to represent the country. There was another one actually around the same time, now I think about it.

Well what is materially incorrect about this backwards backwards medieval rubbish and the horrified views of people in the west, living this millenium, on it?
