Also I'll add can't believe how little we spend on policing. Now please don't hold me to this as it's Diane Abbott's maths. If 300million would proving us with 10,000 extra police then the 105 million we give Pakistan would provide us with an extra 3,350 extra police. Not great given the amount of police we've lost but better than a poke in the eye with a red hot stick.

There's another 3,500 police. Really please instead of talking sh1t on here take time to lobby your MP if you feel this is a ludicrous situation. As I have said I have no problem for us as a relatively rich country helping others in need be through war or natural disaster but when we have an increasing amount of homeless in this country, let's help them now. Not try to eradicate it by 2022 ffs.

£35,000,000 (35 Million) Spent EVERY SINGLE DAY on foreign aid
. Once you know that, it's difficult not to view everything through that prism. e.g. when you hear about council cuts because of lack of funding. Think how many libraries or other services could be saved with just ONE DAYS WORTH of foreign aid money. |

or when there was a massive uproar (rightly so) over the £30 million wasted on Boris's garden bridge in London. All I could think was - so what? it's only less than one days worth of foreign aid!

Im delighted to report that India has just unveiled the "Statue of Unity" twice as high as the Statue of Liberty and only costing £330 Million to construct and already being called a red herring, still they've got plenty to waste

Dear Mr Loughton,
Watching Question Time this week Kate Andrews made a statement regarding the amount we spend on policing England and Wales. An amount it turns out to be less than we give in foreign aid ! Since moving to the Offington area I have given you my support and more importantly my vote. Whether a person votes Labour or Conservative I would suspect the majority of voters choose a party that they feel will make their lives better in THIS country ! It is not right citizens of this country are being placed in danger due to a recognised shortage of police when we are giving tax pounds to foreign countries, especially ones that show little or no loyalty to this country. Take Pakistan, I believe our aid budget for them is £105 million. A country that not only has a space program but is also taking a delivery of eight submarines from China. It is many years since I served in the submarine service thirty two to be precise so I'm not in touch with the cost of running a boat today. What I do know is the cost of running a sub back then was about £30,000 A day. So please enlighten me how the government can justify this use of tax pounds to a country unwilling to look after it's own citizens but willing to increase its military might in an already unstable part of the world. I am not against aid for those in need. I strongly support the government's position of funding refugee camps due to the conflict in Syria, also to the recent earthquake victims in Indonesia. However I am strongly against the ringfencing of foreign aid, it only leads to corruption and waste and sadly leaves the citizens of this country and our county of not getting the services we deserve. I look forward to your response. Just fired this off to my local MP I will get a fxxking answer ![]() |

When Teresa May was home secretary many years ago the Police federation were very strongly opposed to the Policing cuts pointing out that the 1st duty of government was to protect its own citizens whilst also pointing out that the amount spent on foreign aid dwarfed the Policing budget and that serious problems would occur in the future as a result of cutting the budgets too far and too deep but nobody would listen as the Government spin briefed the media against the Police and also may i add that around this time which was approx 6 -7yrs ago as i have been retired for 5 years now that not one Chief Constable spoke out against these cuts with my own CC stating at the time that we could manage the cuts, well now the chickens are coming home to roost.

Caught up with Tim Loughton today, expressed my feelings regarding the lack of money we spend on policing or lack of it and my opposition to ringfencing of Foreign Aid. He had no idea about Pakistans 8 new submarines that they are acquiring. He said he was not really in favour of sending money to Pakistan and that it had been greatly reduced. I bought up the lack of police in Hartlepool to which he replied a lot of forces are stuck in PFI deals which impacts on their budgets. At least May wont be getting his vote
On a side note went and spoke to the Labour party, about ten minutes of me and they fxxked off ![]() ![]() ![]() |

*Kate Andrews, regular mouthpiece for bbc/sky and representative of extreme right-wing think-tank IEA -- well played (although i'd have advised caution)
highlighting figures for Pakistan, purely at random of course, a plus |

What's wrong with quoting the 105million in aid they got from the UK this year ? |
