As predicted, sadly.

I would have thought parents of other children have a legal case against the Home Office and Dept of Education.

It's odd that social services put this fella's interests above the safety of 15 year old girls. Has this ever happened before?

Isn't it just generally accepted in parts of the sub-continent that everyone knocks a few years off children's ages in order to game the system?

It just gets stupid sometimes, especially if you have an August birthday, as I do. I remember as a 14-year-old at school in Slough in 1975 being sent in to bat in an inter-house cricket match against a six-foot tall, moustachioed fast bowler called Ali, who was sending down lightning-fast bouncers on an unrolled park pitch. He was actually a lovely bloke, and a good friend, and he was decent enough to smash my stumps first ball with a delivery I didn't even see. But he was in the same bloody year as me!
Report saddo November 2, 2018 5:07 PM GMT
Aye, he could be sixteen years older than them with an August birthday.

No surprise here at all, plenty of others not known about, or have been covered up.
Someone came up with the very good idea of checking the teeth of these asylum seekers to find out there age (don't know how it works personally), but of course the snowflakes found this a terrible invasion of there Human Rights, lol..only here

dambuster - David Davies.

This fromn the Guardian. Lineker Laugh

A Conservative MP and sections of the British media have been accused of vilifying refugees by calling for dental tests to verify the ages of child migrants.

Images of some of those brought to the UK under a scheme to resettle unaccompanied children from the Calais refugee camp suggest they are over 18. The Sun claimed one of them was “35 if he’s a day” and that it was a “fiasco” for the British authorities to take their ages on trust.

David Davies, the chairman of the Commons Welsh affairs select committee, said dental checks or hand x-rays to check bone density should be used to check ages and stop Britain’s hospitality being abused.

But such reaction has prompted widespread outrage. The broadcaster and former footballer Gary Lineker tweeted that the reception by some had been “hideously racist and utterly heartless”.

and anyone with teenage daughters, and for that matter sons, who condones this.....whether the classmate is 20. 25 or 30(v rare I would have thought).......really should take a good hard look at themselves, as they obviously believe they are a responsible(and politically correct) parent. (btw....it is far more widespread than this example I would guess)
If they choose to speak up in support, like Lineker has.......surely the conclusion is that their kids go to a school where it wouldn't be tolerated....i.e....private?!!......as they tend to do, with this and other related issues..... as long as the problem is not on their doorstep!!

I'd pull my kids out of the education system in this country

Some of the absolute filth being taught in those schools is disgusting anyway, and I was speaking to a young teacher on a forum tonight who says she doesn't agree with the stuff they teach but they have no choice CrazyCrazyCrazy

Its frightening how pathetic this country is imo, we supposedly won 2 world wars but we have such little backbone its unbelievable.

How can any parent (esp fathers) think this is ok?

How am I condoning it, layemall? I'm pointing out how it's been going on for donkey's years in the places BBC journalists never go.

Those of us who grew up in places like Slough were living with this fifty years ago. Being taught in classes where a quarter of the pupils were two or three years older than the majority. The exasperated headmaster constantly conducting interrogations: "Ravinder/Mohammad/Lalit etc. You've changed your date of birth again. Just how old are you?"

Fair enough screaming...and you are correct, it has been going on for years, but not to this extreme example's extent.... I can think of a certain individual playing with my son in the county rugby team...no way was he U15, but he wasn't in his late 20's!!.....I apologise for the misinterpretation of your seemingly dubbing down previous post....

It would explain why pupils from an Indian or British Indian background constantly out-perform those from a white British background in school-age examinations, then constantly under-perform at degree level, when the age difference becomes less of an issue.

It used to annoy me, because life's hard enough with an August birthday (we notoriously under-achieve academically and, as a consequence, career-wise). This sort of thing didn't help at all.

it is easy to assess ages up to 25 years by clinical examination and radiographs (X rays to you less knowledgeable forumites) of the teeth. I know cos I dun it in the past. BUT it breaches human rights to get  someone to open their mouths or have radiographs against their will!
Report layemall November 2, 2018 8:21 PM GMT
Nah, not at all..(the over age students in classes are a very small minority, but maybe growing across the board)...in the main, it is about a completely different work ethic by the majority of these students, ingrained into them by their ambitious parents,(and rightly so)..... Some other parents could do with taking a leaf out of their book......or the gap will continue to widen!....imo of course .

There was an almost 50% increase in the number of BME undergraduates in England between 2007 and 2016. There is, however, disparity in the attainment of students from BME backgrounds once they get to university. While 78% of white students who graduated last year ended up qualifying with a first or a 2:1, 66% of Asian students achieved the same, and just 53% of black students.

https://www.universitiesuk.ac.uk/news/Pages/tackling-gaps-in-bme-students-achievements.aspx

I suppose you could argue that the fall-away of parental involvement could explain why Asian students suddenly go from over-achievement at school to under-achievement at university. Or it may be a mixture of reasons, including a loss of age advantage. Who knows? It might even be that they're represented by greater numbers studying proper, difficult subjects rather than silly pretend ones.

On a related note ... according to that quote they're now doling out firsts or 2:1s to three quarters of students! Christ almighty. When I graduated from Sussex in 1983, only 35% of us in the European languages dept received 2:1s, and just 3% a first. How thick we must have been overall compared to the youth of today. No wonder I voted Leave. Can't have known what I was voting for.Plain

Plenty teenagers these days look a lot older than the are, a lot of it is down to diet.

I wouldve said about 16/17 years old on first look but a very very young looking 30.

Or to use a fairly simplified animal analogy, if your were a lioness in a pride, there will be times when you voluntarily take on the role of being nursemaid to other members of the pride, and if you are ever rejected by that pride or decide to move on and find another, you may well take that role on again voluntarily at some point.....as that is what your destiny is.....

But for various reasons, you will never find one who chooses to take that role on in a pack of hyenas for example, as they would never feel that they were  truly accepted as being a part of that group, and would therefore not have the same instinctive urges to help....Wink
