Went to see it today at an imax cinema today and really enjoyed it. As a Queen fan was a little sceptical but ended up really enjoying it. Think Rami Malek should at the very least be an Oscar nomination for his performance.

Another decent story I read a few days back"Bohemian Rhapsody: How Rami Malek became Freddie Mercury"https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-45939504
Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

@leazes67. How so is it scary about Sacha??? You do "get" Sacha don't you???
OK I wasn't surprised when it went belly up with him and Bohemian Rhapsody but I think it was more a problem with the remaining members of Queen not wanting him there rather than him.

I'd recommend seeing this on the biggest screen possible. Every Queen fan I've spoken to (although obviously not that many) enjoyed it.
Facts if it's that important to you to see a more detailed version of his slow painful death, and more detail of his homosexual lifestyle and wild parties then this film isn't for you.

Went to see it last Saturday. Good enough film but a bit light and fluffy, couldve been a PG. All just seemed a bit hollow/fake. That said it's worth a watch. The band aid scenes at the end are top notch

Judging by the trailers for Rocketman - the Elton John biopic coming out next year - Reg's lifelong big issue will be sanitised by portraying him with long hair from start to finish.

Hugely enjoyable and Rami Malek understandably completely steals the show. If it's thought-provoking stuff you're after then look elsewhere, but if you're happy enough to simply watch a very decent movie with a stomping soundtrack then you'll enjoy it. Lots. And in answer to the question is it worth going to the cinema then yes, absolutely.

Not quite the diss you were waiting for Bigmo - I haven't seen it, but hadn't planned to either as I just f*kg cannot stand Queen. All downhill from Seven Seas of Rye. BR massively overated imo. Something about all that posturing that makes my skin crawl.

Viral video shows how closely Rami Malek mimics Freddie Mercury’s Live Aid performance in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.https://www.nme.com/news/film/viral-video-rami-malek-mimics-freddie-mercurys-live-aid-performance-in-bohemian-rhapsody-2403112
Written by Queen bass player John Deacon, this is a fan favorite that was never a hit. The music video was filmed in drummer Roger Taylor's garden in Surrey, England in 1978. The ground was covered in snow and ice, and the band was noticeably uncomfortable. Brian May remarks in the making of video, "looking back, it couldn't be done there - you couldn't do that!" During the shoot, the ice and snow on the ground complicated matter, and Freddie Mercury consumed more alcohol than he probably should have.

His view worth a lot more than the poncy film critics imo
Bohemian Rhapsody may have been met with mixed reviews, but most said Rami Malek's performance was spot on. The movie biopic tells the story of how Freddie Mercury rose to fame, his relationship with Mary Austin and manager Paul as well as the famous Live Aid performance. In an interview, Queen guitarist Brian May has shared his opinion of how the actor got on portraying his fellow bandmate Freddie Mercury.

“He inhabited Freddie to the point where we even started to think of him as Freddie. Really remarkable.” It seems May is also impressed with how the whole film turned out. May was involved in the production of the movie, which hit a few issues in before making it to the cinema screen. “We’ve lived with this project for nine years and it’s incredible to see it doing so well,” he added. “It came out to s***ty reviews, as some of our work has before, but the public has embraced it magnificently.

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody becomes most streamed song from 20th century
Following a surge in popularity around hit biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody edges ahead of Nirvana and Guns N’ Roses
Bohemian Rhapsody has been named the most streamed song from the 20th century, overtaking Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.
The Queen hit, which reached No 1 in the UK in 1975 and then again in 1991 following Freddie Mercury’s death, has now been streamed 1.6bn times across services including YouTube and Spotify.
The song is currently as popular as it has been in a generation, following the release of the Queen biopic also entitled Bohemian Rhapsody, which has made almost $600m at the global box office since its release in November. The song re-entered the UK charts the same month and reached No 45, and for the week of 22 November, was the 11th most streamed song in the world on Spotify.
In a statement accompanying the news, Queen guitarist Brian May said: “So the river of rock music has metamorphosed into streams! Very happy that our music is still flowing to the max!” Lucian Grainge, CEO of Queen’s label Universal Music Group, said it was an “incredible achievement that is a testament to the enduring brilliance of Queen”.
The top five most streamed tracks of the 20th century are surprising, with major stars such as Michael Jackson and the Beatles absent. Nirvana’s 1991 grunge anthem Smells Like Teen Spirit is at No 2 with more than 1.5bn streams, followed by two songs by Guns N’ Roses: Sweet Child O’ Mine and November Rain. a-ha’s synthpop hit Take on Me rounds out the top five. Bohemian Rhapsody was also named the most-streamed classic rock song of all time.
Ed Sheeran’s 2017 single Shape of You has meanwhile become the first song ever to pass 2bn streams on Spotify. The British singer-songwriter said “thank you world” on Instagram, along with an announcement of the milestone.

Appalling acting from the actor who plays Roger Taylor, incredibly lame plot and rotten script. However, hugely entertaining despite it's naffness and a superb performance by Rami Malek as Freddie carries the film which highlight is the reenactment of Live Aid. 7/10 for me.
