you referenced 30 years ago then said we should be approaching the time, somehow I don't think you meant another 32 years in 2050 it was obvious you meant soon but that's by the by anyway, you are basically encouraging black people to accept that being insulted, with the word black inserted as a prefix, should be more acceptable because some older (I'm guessing) white folk like yourself don't mind so much about their race being used to insult them, who by the way are few and far between with that mentality, it may not have an equal impact on a white person but most white people would still be offended. The history of the black race being persecuted by the white race during the slave trade in particular, in relateively recent times, means there will be no time soon where the impact of being called black (inserted insult) will be lessened, not in 2018, 2050 or 2100.
I would imagine Gay people would think the same thing, that they don't want to be accepting of being insulted using the word gay to describe them, but it's nice for a straight, white man to tell black and gay people what they should accept. Is this not common sense  |

scandi what I meant was the future. It may not have been the perfect choice of word but then that is the problem with the easily offended and PC mad world of today. You get the hypocritical PC brigade throwing insults and jumping up and down at the slightest thing.
You refer to "relatively recent slave trade" Is that the slave trade in 2018? The vast majority in this country are not black. |

The Abolition Of The Slave Trade Act was over 200 years ago. For the record that "relative recent" event is 170 more years than 32.

Considering modern humans have been around for 200,000 years, the 1800's was relatively recently, not to mention the way black people were treated in places like America well into the 20th century including being told to give up their bus seat for a white person or sit at the back.

Black people in England less than 40 years ago were treated very badly in society, in the streets, at football matches and with neandathal groups like the NF's. Slave trade was one example.

People seem to be ignoring the fact that a 77 year old woman suffered a pretty horrible experience and tirade of abuse. It does not matter if it was racist or not. Some of the apologist's on here are embarrassing themselves.
I really do not know what sort of place some of you lot live but where I live if you talked to a 77 year old woman like that you are likely to get a clout. If you talked to someone's mother or grand mother like that you would get a lot worse. I live in an area that was pretty racist at one time but even the racist's would not tolerate anyone talking to an old woman like that. Shame on you! |
