Like a lot of people, I watched the first one out of curiosity.
I quite like the new doctor, but the script and acting was a bit poor. This week got bored after 20 mins and turned over. Usual BBC offering these days of inclusivity over substance. |

never been into this, seems like rubbish for kids with adults who also want some nostalgia. Time to come up with something new imo instead of rinsing this to death.

10.54m consildated figures for ep 1
![]() 7.1m overnights probably rising to 9.5m overall Not in a million years its pulling in those numbers, and bare in mind those "verifying" the figures are the same people who want this rubbish foisted upon society as the people writing the show Even tennant wasnt drawing in these figures often, yet watch this whole series beat all the preious seasons into the ground If tennant and to a lesser degree matt smith couldnt pull in these figures than how can a no mark actress with bradley walsh as sidekick, not to mention on a SUNDAY evening ![]() |

I can't believe they didn't use Eddie Isard as the new Doctor instead
of going straight to a women as it takes time to go through the change |
|

It's rubbish that's why.
The new doctor is hopeless, her diction isn't good enough to play the lead for a start. Like the one before her, he hadn't got a clear speaking voice either. |

i must truly admit i have never seen 1 episode of DR WHO since my creation
|
|
By:
It usually loses viewing figures througout the series and picks up again later in the series as a rule though, so don't look into the viewing figures from eps 4-8, it did even when Tennant played the role, The last time I watched religiously was probably series 8 but got totally bored with Capaldi and Moffat
Its nothing more than a virtue signalling agenda driven load of c*** now, its the BBC main flagship show so its going to be used as such, nothing can be just an enjoyable TV show anymore we should know that. |

Tom Baker A GREAT SPEAKING VOICE

Ratings don't mean much anymore do they, remember when Eastenders and Corrie and Emmerdale used to get 10m+ regularly, and they were on 4-5 times a week, now they get around 4-5 mil I think. With so many TV channels and the internet and netflix, the options of an evening are spread so thinly 5mil for any kind of programme should be seen as a ratings success imo.

I've always said that David Thewliss would have made a brilliant Dr. Who.
|
|
By:
they will want to be able to sell the series overseas
they have certainly hyped new series and put it into a far better time slot. must be difficult to come up with new ideas so a woman doctor has created a bit of interest daleks tapping up cybermen on grinder next ? |
|
By:
A female Dr.Who would be OK with me, how about Keira Knightly or Emma Watson?
|
|
By:
pretty sure bbc would have jumped at chance of those two.
and they would have increased interest and sell on value. budget probably didnt allow |
|
By:
just noticed the big headline on the BBC site about its "record breaking" viewing figures
![]() ![]() ![]() anyone with a primary 1 grasp of arithmetic will spot they've plucked those numbers from thin air. This story has more spin than a Nadal backhand ![]() the highest "since the show was relaunched in 2005". that's some sample size you have there ![]() "consolidated figures" Really ? Tell me what you mean by that "devices" so, not just TV then ? ![]() "Barb only began counting ratings for phones, PCs and tablets last month". LOL, if you're gonna try and pull the wool over our eyes, at least hide the sheep ![]() ![]() absolutely desperate stuff from the PC mob. Nobody is buying it and nobody is watching |
