Sounds like it was both sides of the plane

It can only be hoped that their friends and neighbours are ashamed of them, their ignorance is no excuse for helping a gang rapist. These felons should not be seated with the general public though, was there no baggage hold?

Can this be classed as "Assisting an offender" ? Blush

Shouldn't be on a commercial flight and if that is absolutely necessary then the accompanying officer(s) should be allowed to reveal the nature of his conviction. The passengers clearly didn't know that as even The Mail eventually makes clear.

None of their business tbf, but I'm guessing the guards would have lost their jobs for disclosing what the animal had done.

It the kind of behaviour you can expect when no one has any respect for the law.
Years ago those passengers wouldn't have dared to interfere.

They should have said get back to your seats and shut up or get off the plane.
Then called for the police if they didn't and took them off the plane one by one.

Turkish airlines and a lot of Muslim passengers on there, they look after their own.

Take them off the plane one by one. Then see how brave they are.

I'd guarantee the first one they took off the plane would be the last.

I agree the passengers should not have been able to dictate but it was obvious they didn't know he was a rapist. He'll have said that he had come to UK as a teenager, been granted asylum, started a family and was now being deported.saddo is no doubt right that the officers were constrained from mentioning his criminal record. But you can imagine fellow-Muslims would sympathise, though again I agree they shouldn't have been allowed to do more than that.Asking for trouble deporting him to a Muslim country on Turkisk Airlines though imo.

you see more and more of this happening now (there was some Swedish feminist did the same on another flight, and of course just had to film it on her phone).
uninformed vigilante virtue-signalling is very much a thing now.

I doubt any of them even asked what his crime was, and I'd put big money on most of them NOT caring or changing their mind even if they found out what the criminal had done.

because we live in a world where fear of perceived racism trumps everything else, including murder and rape,-  rape of women, children and even babies.

I'd happily lay you that big money plat. I'm sure they do care now they though what he had done.
The point is the passengers should never have been put in that situation.

It would be a horrible world if we all just turned a blind eye when things didn't look right as it was none or our business.
Maybe one day you or your family will be wronged, hopefully those uniformed vigilante virtue-signallers don't just let it be incase you're
a wrong un.

Here's a better idea, don't stick convicted rapists that are getting deported on a public flight amongst good law abiding passengers.
Just a thought..

It turned out they weren't good law abiding passengers.

They should be taken to task to deter other passengers who might decide to support convicted rapists.

Don't make the excuse that they didn't know who he was, because ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

They don’t care what he is if what he did , they saw someone who wasn’t British and that was enough to make him innocent , the presumption with these types is that it is Britain who will always be in the wrong

No dr. they were good law abiding passengers regardless. They thought they were doing the right thing which should be applauded.
Not their fault that the idiots in charge done them up like a kipper. It's they same idiots that are letting people in willy nilly but
once youve read all the spin it's much easy to blame others. It's what they want really and it's working sadly. Divide and rule.

I'm off busy day.

No excuse, the law doesn't work like that.

They were obstructing officers which is a criminal offence.  That makes them criminals in the eyes of the law.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're not prosecuted when they return.

Left wingers turned a blind eye to mass child rape and when one of them spoke out about it (Sarah Champion) she lost her job.

So you can't be surprised at this.

you have thousands of idiots out demonstating against those who have real concerns about what a minority are getting up to

that is where your problem is

the thought processes and philosophy and action of those who have seized the narrative and silence the majority

quite frightening
