When I was a boy, back in the 60s and 70s, it was always ten years to save the planet. Even as late as 2006 Al Gore, in that film of his, told us we had ten years to save the planet. 

Then, in 2009, Prince Charles jetted in to Copenhagen to remind us we only had seven years to save the planet

So, if 12 years is now the going rate, then things must be looking up.
