Women's sport: New research finds more than 80% of sports fans are interested

If anybody (male or female) tries to tell you that you should be interested in women’s sport just ask them a few trivia questions (ie name two England women’s football players or which team won the last women’s Rugby World Cup). There’s about a 10% chance they will be able to answer your questions because although they pretend they are interested most people are not really at all.

Most blokes on the other hand could name where the last ten world cups were played, who played in them, who won etc. or reel off the last ten six-nations winners.

I'll watch the Solheim Cup when it's on but that's about it as regards to womens sport.

1 wouldn't watch a second of any womens sport and women doing what was normaly considered mens sports does my bits in, why watch sunday morning pub football pertaining to be womens ch lg,etc, or the 3,4th eleven at your local cricket team pretending to play womens test matches ,its only made worse by cringeworthy commentators,pundits pretending their watching something they arnt, whats the lowest level you have to stoop to find a woman playing competitive cricket,football,rugby in a mans team

Got to push women's sport, it's the only thing the BBC can afford.

Doesn't it say 'at least one womens' sport'   - so all you have to say is I watch womens' rugby so I am one of those stats.

Pathetic what they are trying to say and make of it.

I rather like the rugby - I think they are quite good but doubt they will ever challenge the men.

as for the soccerball players mentioned - never heard of them

If the bbc believe the stats then they should create a pay per view channel and see if they have the conviction of what they spout.
