1. If he is guilty, what should his punishment be?

2. If he is innocent, what should his accusers' punishment be?

There is talk on the American forums that one accuser was a hoax by some 4chan user and his girlfriend. If true Michael Avenatti, the lawyer who made the allegations public and sent them to the senate judiciary committee, could find himself in a spot of bother.
Report tobermory September 26, 2018 1:34 AM BST
Isn't it a he said/she said thing from 30+ years ago?

He's hardly likely to be convicted of anything and there is no chance of it being proved to be lies.
Report Pokermonster September 26, 2018 10:08 PM BST
Kavanaugh appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee under penalty of a felony, an offence which carries a five-year prison sentence. He vehemently denied all allegations.

On the accusers' side, short of an unimpeachable alibi from Kavanaugh that placed him somewhere else at the time, their claims would seem impossible to either prove or disprove. A 'he said, she said' scenario as Tobermory pointed out. The latest woman to come forward claims she was gang-raped, not by Kavanaugh but at a party where he was present.

In an attempt to answer the original question: If it transpires that Kavanaugh is entirely innocent, the women making false allegations purely to serve a political agenda, I think they should face a similar punishment. Five years imprisonment.

We all know this about stopping someone who doesnt have a leftist view that may* be elected for life.

Just a libtard tantrum, which we all can see.

1) Kavanaugh is not on trial so talk of imprisonment is bs.

2) if Republican men don't think it matters, then how come they were so keen to impeach Clinton over a ****?
Report lfc1971 September 29, 2018 3:30 PM BST
1) whether we are twlining about jail is neither here nor there , he’s on trial

2) if Clinton committed a crime he should be in jail , what’s wrong with that ?
Report lfc1971 September 29, 2018 3:35 PM BST
Now if you make false allegations of this nature that could ruin someone’s life , and their family’s and children

Then that deserves a substantial prison sentence
Report lfc1971 September 29, 2018 3:36 PM BST
Longer than 5 years imo , at least 10

1) Kavanaugh is not on trial. You could think of it as a job interview if you like.
2) Was Clinton getting his willy sucked a crime? Or double standards from the GOP senators?
Report lfc1971 September 29, 2018 7:43 PM BST
1) kavanaugh is on trial . You can think of it as a job interview and a trial
They are not mutually exclusive

2) Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice
No member of the Democratic Party voted guilty on either charge

Is this a case of double standards from the democratic senators ?
Report Ramruma September 29, 2018 8:20 PM BST
Come out of the alt-right loop for a while and notice that Kavanaugh was not even on President Trump's original list of candidates for the Supreme Court. Oh, and he is still not on trial.

Kavanaugh is 1/4 to be confirmed, and 12/5 not to be confirmed.

Bill Clinton was not impeached.
Report Pokermonster September 29, 2018 9:19 PM BST
Bill Clinton was impeached, sir. He was impeached by the House. However, his impeachment didn't also pass the Senate by the required two-thirds majority.
Report Pokermonster September 29, 2018 9:23 PM BST
Impeachment doesn't necessarily mean a president is removed from office; it's only a formal statement of charges.
Report Pokermonster September 29, 2018 9:28 PM BST
You might have been thinking of Nixon? He was never impeached, he resigned first. Clinton was only the second president to suffer the ignominy of being impeached.
Report The Leopard September 29, 2018 9:41 PM BST
You're right, found this :

Bill Clinton was indeed impeached by the House of Representatives, but the senate did not come to the necessary 2/3 majority agreement to fully process it, so he was acquitted.
Initially, four impeachment articles were brought against president Clinton: two perjury charges, one charge of abuse of power and one of obstruction of justice. Only the one perjury impeachment article and that of obstruction of justice passed, and he had to stand trial in front of the Senate on these two charges. This made him only the second U.S. president after Andrew Johnson (in 1868) to be impeached.

Not a single Democrat voted against Clinton during those proceedings.

I've had cause to follow the careers of Bill and Hillary Clinton since his second term as Governor of Arkansas. I consider them both to be the most corrupt politicians seen during my lifetime.

Wrong, that honour goes to Donald Trump.

You won't be surprised to learn that I strongly disagree, Mr L. When it comes to corruption President Trump cannot hold a candle to Bill and Hillary Clinton, they're in a league of their own.
Report Pokermonster September 29, 2018 10:27 PM BST
Donald Trump wouldn't have been my first choice as POTUS, but considering the alternative I'll be forever grateful to the man that he won. And, as it has transpired, he is doing a very good job despite the misguided efforts of others to derail his presidency at any cost.

Leopard flat out wrong again. "Clinton wasn't impeached" LaughLaughLaugh

Chalk it up alongside all the other wrong statements, predictions etc. "Trump will never win the nomination" "Trump will never become president" "Trump won't make it to inauguration" "Trump won't last a month" "Trump won't last three months" "Trump won't last a year"

And now "Clinton wasn't impeached" LaughLaughLaugh

Clear objective by Metoo and Democrats.

They don't want a Republican let alone a Christian to have this much power.

Kav would have the power to challenge things like Roe and Wade.

They're terrified what he might do.

I’ve just read a very long article which does an excellent job of demonstrating that Brett Kavanaugh was lying in his hearing and that Dr Ford’s claims have actually been buoyed by him, in part to his own calendar.

1) You`re wrong; whether or not he gets the gig, it would be no surprise to see Lucifer`s Little Helpers reporting him for sexual assault. This would be done in Maryland, where there`s no Statute of Limitations on rape charges. All it would then need is a dodgy jury, and he`d be off for a life stretch.
2) Maybe that`s because bill actually committed the crimes, actually committed rape?
