So much cruelty done to animals in this and other so called civilised countries. From their slaughter for food, to supposed conservation reasons down to simply sating people's sporting bloodlust.
If it takes some gammons scouring t'internet for reasons to hate other religions to make a concerted effort to minimise unnecessary cruelty then I'm all for it. |

notice how pineaapple avoids the question , he’s slippery like that
By:
Now a proper answer would go something along the lines of thanks Reynard for bringing this to our attention , it does seem incredible if this cruel practice is allowed to go on every day , every year , and possibly increasingly so I’m not sure in Britain .
something like that |
By:
Here we go ...
Animal welfare standards are being unnecessarily lowered by the sharp rise in the slaughter of non stunned animals According to the British Veterinary Association |
By:
The increase over just 2 years in the number of animals having their throats cut without first being stunned was of grave concern and was a major welfare issue BVA
By:
My answer would be that animal standards are already rock bottom, and just in terms of halal/kosher slaughter. We just choose to look the other way. But you carry on only caring about something if a muslim's doing it. It does you great credit.
By:
Now pineapple I don’t see why you felt the need to attack the messenger and start by insulting people really
By:
But you carry on only caring about something if a muslim's doing it
If that was aimed at me then you are so wrong ! |
By:
No rey, I was replying to the old major.
By:
Amazing really isn’t it , he wasn’t referring to Reynard in the very first post , no no I am not telling lies
he’s a slippery one is pineapple |
By:
That’s the nicest way I can think of putting it
By:
pp i don’t know if your opposition to fox hunting ( assuming you are opposed to it ) is based on a hatred of British people or not , it might be
By:
Yeah, obviously it's to do with that
![]() ![]() Jesus wept you utter cretin. Let's delve into it though. What's your opinion on fox hunting old man? Yay or nay? |
By:
I would be against it
By:
Is that ok ?
By:
Now it has been banned in the British Parliament
Why hasn’t this barbaric practice of halal slaughter been banned Any idea ? |
By:
What is your reason for being against it?
By:
I asked first , now let’s see
Why do you think the barbaric practice of halal slaughter is allowed to continue Without so much as a peep from the great unwashed who protest against fox hunting Any idea ? |
By:
If you think I'm "for" halal slaughter you couldn't be more wrong.
Odd though how among the many, many different types of cruelty to animals that take place in this country you want to concentrate on the one specific to muslims. Why is that I wonder. |
By:
You see this is going on every day , right throughout the year and is increasing year on year in Britain
Why have we not seen demonstrations in the streets and in parliament on this barbaric practice ? |
By:
Pineapple stop talking nonsense , fox hunting is banned ,good
Now you don’t seem to be very concerned about animal cruelty when this goes on in Britain So why is that ? |
By:
I’m beginning to think you might not be so caring as you like to make out
By:
Can you explain why it is allloiwed to continue , every day
And no mass demonstrations or rally’s to parliament etc What is your thoughts in that , why are the usual types not protesting ? |
By:
Out of what I've posted on here (please take some time to re-read) what makes you think I'm not very concerned about animal cruelty.
Genuinely worry about your health sometimes. |
By:
Any idea , I must admit it’s baffling really , of course fox hunting was a British country pursuit
They stopped that |
By:
You see someone brings up their opposition to halal slaughter
And you choose to think that it is because they hate other religions Well I don’t know why we shouldn’t question your motivations either That seems fair |
By:
You might be more consumed with a hatred for British people more than any genuine concern for animal welfare
I don’t know, but it is possible judging by your posts |
By:
Again, you appear to be losing the ability to read or think in any constructive way. "hatred for British people". Are you imagining your own conversation going on here? People could start talking about their favourite Fleetwood Mac song and you'd jump in and turn it into a diatribe against people with different skin colours or "leftists".
You need to seek help before you hurt yourself or others. |
By:
You see in your very first post you say this “ in this and other so called civilised countries “
Not that signifies to me a certain contempt for Britain |
By:
You haven’t answered the question , why is fox hunting banned , and halal slaughter is not
Go on why is this ? |
By:
Instead of insulting people in your usual bigoted way , try and answer thoughtfully
By:
re your question, afraid I don't know. Suggest you ask your local MP or a constitutional lawyer. I'm neither.
By:
That’s ok , you don’t need to answer
Sometimes the question is more important than the answer |
By:
as with the original question , if you don’t know the answer don’t start calling people haters for trying to address it
You don’t know anything about that either |
By:
Mentioning certain types of animal slaughter is a big no no. Also, do not mention 'the other bad thing that must not be mentioned' that certain types may have committed in some towns or other, otherwise you're an evil racist, understand?
By:
Yeah where else would Alan's snack bar get it's meat supply

Odd though how among the many, many different types of cruelty to animals that take place in this country you want to concentrate on the one specific to muslims. It just so happens that I inadvertantly viewed a video showing the Halal slaughter of unstunned cattle and sheep . That is why I concentrated on this specific topic . I have also previously seen video's showing : Badger Baiting and Dog Fighting but as far as I am aware these 'activities' have been banned under previous legislation whereas Halal slaughter is still legal . Fox Hunting was considered by many , rightly or wrongly , to be an important rural activity and the most efficient method of controlling the Fox population (as opposed to shooting or the use of poisons). Despite this argument it is still banned in the UK . My main point is why do we allow Halal slaughter ? What is the point of it ? It serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever and is of no benefit to anyone . The method by which an animal is killed and the carcass prepared makes absolutely zero difference to the consumer to whom it is impossible to tell the difference between meat that is killed humanely or inhumanely ! This barbaric practice has no place in a country of so-called 'animal lovers' . |
By:
Again rey, I was speaking to the major, not you. I'd ban it tomorrow personally. No need. If people want to eat tortured meat then find somewhere else frankly. Same time, standards in some non-religious abattoirs are absolutely diabolical too. Much more needs to be done.
As you say, we call ourselves animal lovers but wilfully turn a blind eye to what is involved in getting food on our plate. |
By:

Agreed , but there is a law that applies to what you describe as non-religious abattoirs and this law should be vigorously enforced . Halal slaughter didn't even exist in the UK 50 years ago yet now , in the 21st century , we are seeing such produce entering our food chain by stealth . All so-called religious practices should be limited to worship within appointed premises , as opposed to rituals that are outdated and barbaric and have no place in a civilised society on which they are being forcefully imposed against the will of the majority . |
