Mr Chander, 80, from Leamington Spa, was judged unfit to plead or stand trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
The former town mayor was diagnosed with dementia after the crash.

The court heard Mr Chander had been warned about his "erratic" driving by bus company Midland Red after four crashes in the previous three years.

WHAT THE FOOOOOK ???

Read that story case. Frightening. Unbelievable that someone that age can be allowed to drive a Bus.
Hopefully the bus company get made to pay dearly for this.

The person or persons at Midland Red who decided to let him keep on driving should be sent to prison for a very long time.

as long as he passed the tests and no longer any default pension age,and unions no doubt fighting to clear his name after earlier incidents what can you do, get used to it ,its the future, forgetting any responsibility of the firms involved the very fact there,ll be millions of 70 plus drivers on the works commute in future should fill road users with horror,most of which wont have sat a driving,bicycle,motorcycle test for 50 years, ,
the government thinks everyone sits on their arse pushing pens,tapping screens 8 hrs a day,thats why they can work into their 70,s 80,s

you need a hard hat and a high fizz vest just to walk around B and Q these days with  doddering workers on forklifts,mweps,ladders,platforms etc,

I'm sure an actuary or such could give you a % chance by age of e.g. suffering a stroke, heart attack, or some other catastrophic event based on age etc and I'm sure it'll ramp up as you approach *80*.

What are they thinking employing someone to drive a very large heavy vehicle full of people at that sort of age? EVen if he was driving well it's a risk never mind if he's showing himself up to be unfit to drive.

It's unbelievable.

If you were sitting on a 747 with one pilot who introduced themself and said he was a 77 year old, you'd be fighting to get off!

He had previous Crashes , I think it was Time to Retire him

didn't hear all this shouting and screaming when the default pension age was scrapped and state pension age increased and people in future told they,d work into their 70,s 80,s,did they expect everyone to stop doing jobs they,d done all their life and retrain in their mid 60,s to start new careers, the genies out of the bottle

they cant retire him ,they,d have to have a reason to sack him same reasons for sacking a 30 yr old who,d had an accident no one said the accidents were his fault, then they,d have to offer to retrain him,offer him other posts and start another driver ,train him, etc,etc or offer him a nice redundancy package to tempt him to leave, all money,money for the employer hence they let people plod on, because the government has landed them a poison chalice
