Alright chaps time to get fitter. I have done an army routine from a book before and I am doing it again. If anyone wants to join me the book is Go the distance by Major Sam Mcgrath from the Paras. The book has beginner, intermediate and advanced 8 week sessions. To get going you do the para test to see where your basic level of fitness is at. My results:

Week 1 day 1

Press ups (2 mins) 38
Sit ups (2 mins) 53
1.5 mile run (16.56)
Reach test - 11.75 cm
BM! 24.5
Resting heart rate  - 65

A couple of things about the results - I skipped pull ups as couldn't find somewhere to do them. For the reach test you have to have your feet flat against a wall and you measure from the wall to where you can comfortably keep your fingers for 5 seconds. My run was terrible lol I used to be able to run 6 min miles Cry but as you repeat the para test in weeks 4 and 8 I should be able to smash that time. I don't think BMI is accurate. It has me on the verge of being overweight, but I am 5'9  11st 10 ffs

I shall be putting up my results here for the 8 weeks and I hope to see some good improvements by the end. Any words of encouragement are welcome as are p!ss takes Grin However, anyone just wanting to be totally negative, well you know where the door is. Wish me luck!

Week 1 Day 2

20 minute jog

I like how this eases you in to the regimen. Will be going up in increments until week 8. Next up will be strength exercises and one more run for the week.
