By:
They could move between houses through the attics and elsewhere without having to leave the houses , the houses of the civilians
Understand ? |
By:
I asked what happened on Bloody Sunday you appear to have swerved that Question ,What was Going on there ?
By:
And if the civilians said anything they for a bullet in the back of the head from the IRA
By:
^ google cause of troubles, as your at it google loyalist paramilitaries as well and see how many more were murder by them,RIP all those who died and continue to suffer, should never have happened and the treatment of catholics mirrored the American blacks at the time.
By:
I told you about there , the same thing
Now McGuiness and other IRA men were there with rifles They were behind this rally which was using pretendy civil rights as a cover Now mcguinness was responsible for many murders They voted him into parliament So they can pipe down about the British army |
By:
No,bring them to trial.
By:
There you see the rubbish from pa lapsy ,
Catholics and Protestants had exactly the same rights as everyone else within the UK And that meant they were the luckiest generation in any country in the world Those are the facts |
By:
Yes must have been fantastic for Both Sides to be Living in a war zone for years
By:
They were free to live , go to school , go to university free and a grant ,free health , could move and live anywhere in the UK and anywhere in Ireland north or south
If was the best of times , it was the worst of times |
By:
Another mind boggling statement, (16.15) Look up "one man one vote", you will see how ridiculious your statement is then.
By:
The war zone was created by the IRA, the vast majority of people were not affected
By:
You see now I wondered when lapsy would mention that
What he doesn’t tell you is every catholic and every Protestant had the same rights They all had the vote That’s more propaganda and lies |
By:
Perhaps they Just wanted to Live where they were Born ? Lots of people do.
By:
When you turned 18 or 21 whichever it was
Everyone got the vote |
By:
That’s fine case, do you know it’s a simple matter respect democracy
By:
As soon as they vote for a United ireland that’s fine
But they tried to bomb and murder their way to it |
By:
No it is fact, home and business owners had multiple votes,Catholics generally were neither, you tried to say all were equal, not at all,Northern Ireland was set up for protestants through ward voting, gerrymandering etc, you are fooling no one.
By:
When the people who live there want that they can have it
What’s wrong with that again ? |
By:
the vast majority of people were not affected
![]() You are having a laugh mate ,the Troubles Affected most People in Norn From Both Sides , Have you ever Visited , The divide is still there With houses Flying the Georges Flag others The Tricolour ,I can assure you most People were affected ,Most from both sides have tried to move on .. Sadly not all. |
By:
^At the expense of others? directly contradicts your statement that "all are equal"
By:
A few businessmen had a vote for his business address
That was the same throughout England as well , not sure when it ended It ended certainly in no Ireland also Had no effect whatsoever , if you were a catholic business owner then you got the extra vote as well So you see how people like lapsy use the one man one vote in a dishonest way For propaganda to try and fool the English and other countries They had the vote, the same as everyone else |
By:
In 1968 Derry had 14,000 nationalist votes and 9000 unionist, however the council consisted of 12 unionist and 8 nationalist members.
is that right or fair? hence was there a genuine need of civil rights? The voting was **** and that is fact, was nothing democratic about that. |
By:
Do you understand how democracy in the UK works
UKIP got 4 million votes ? can’t recall , and one seat in Parliament The SNP got how many 5 mill ? and got 30 or more seats in parl In England there is a bias towards labour caused by old boundaries They are an historical anomaly not caused by bias Catholics had larger families , old boundaries etc But you are determined to see something terrible and unusual , it s just history and time Just like England |
By:
You see if you are determined to be so fixated on how Catholics vote and how Protestants vote then I would suggest that is a major part of your problem
By:
I watched about 15 minutes of this tosh and found it totals cr@p so turned it off. The cr@p on that estate got of lightly imo.
By:
Amazing how animated some on here are against the British Army but have nothing bad to say about the ira who murdered thousands of innocent people.
By:
RA murderous Gangsters ,Im not Against the Army but there was a Problem with 1 Para ,The bloke running the show being a Lunatic didnt help ...
By:
Upwards of 170 deaths in 1971 in Northern Ireland ,picking out a handful and expecting them to be treated differently from all the others is wrong ,the way some use the term innocent civilians at the same time call all British Army deaths as legitimate targets and fail to accept the murder of innocent Protestants as secterian is wrong and won’t help. The way the emphasis is placed on deaths by the British Army and the way the OP has taken one set of events only distorts the picture and prevents a balenced narrative ever being projected ,things were bad in 71 and this was not a beginning ,kids were being killed in firebombed shops ,off duty soldiers out drinking were lured to a country location and executed ,the ira were murdering anyone they wanted to ,the civil rights movement was hijacked and truth was a big casualty ,propaganda was used by all and the big picture was distorted .
By:
I am not Distorting anything ,As far as I am aware there were no Soldiers Killed prior to Ballymurphy , As I said things got steadily worse after Ballymurphy and the Bogside Thousands of Lifes lost Soldiers and both sides ,I am taking no sides
but there something Wrong with the Paras ,they were certainly not deployed for Peacekeeping ... |
By:
A chap I knew at School was slaughtered at Warren point
![]() Couple of Mates done Time in Iraq . |
By:
First British soldier killed 6 feb 1971 by the IRA
Bsllymurphy August that year |
By:
There were at least 10,000 bomb attacks during the troubles
By:
Fack me,will you look at lfc googling away goodo
.Par for the course never admit anything. Respect Casemoney for having an open mind. |
By:
Yes I just googled it to see if casemoney was right , he wasn’t
I would respect you pa lapsy if you had an open mind |
By:
Now I don’t know who the 1st commander was or if he was suitable
But it’s like this , the army is not part of the social services Don’t shoot at them |
By:
"don't shoot at them"
Is there the slimmest possibility there was no shots fired except by the ritish army who used that as an excuse to try and cover up their actions of murdering unarmed civilians? Think and if unsure go back to google. |
By:
^British army
remember in Derry they were planting guns on dead bodies in order to back up their lies |
By:
Why would the British army shoot unarmed civilians
And over a period of 3 days Now what possible reason would there be for doing that No they went there to arrest members of the IRA , who with the help of the civilians were intent on murdering members of the army As they had already done before and would do again |
By:
Innocent people were there I am sure , but the vast majority of people in that estate were not innocent
They were part of the trouble and aided in the murders of innocent people, men, women and children That is the simple truth of the matter |
By:
They helped , many willingly
I am sure some out of fear , and some managed to keep themselves to themselves Those lucky ones have a clear conscience |
