i bought a sofa from House of Fraser for £1400, paid on debit card. Delivery due next week (originally 6 week lead time)
3 days ago the salesman phoned me up and said i had to pay the £1400 again if i still want the sofa, and i will have to claim the original money from my bank.
As the money is with the liquidators and not HOF.
Spoke to the bank and they are sending forms, but said could take months if i get a refund.
Shop is still operating and selling stuff.
Richest man in Britain ripping people off.
If the sofa is in their warehouse next week why not just deliver it to me? and if will eventually get the money back why dont the liquidators just refund me?
I have e mailed HOFno answer, phone number just says e mail them. No official correspondance from HOF or liquidators.
shop still operating, but sales guy said i wont get my sofa unless i pay another £1400 and try claim money back from the bank. It was ordered on debit not credit card.
no official word from hof and cannot get hold of anyone.

Seems incredible that the suite didn't become your property the minute you paid for it. Was a similar case last week and the woman involved got a few relatives help her take it. HoF phoned the police who stopped her as she was driving home but refused to get involved after she showed them her receipt. They said it was a civil matter. Will put a link up when I find it.

That should take you to it. It's what I would do especially with the police saying it's not a criminal offence.

But how can they say they have gone bust when the shop is still selling, so someone buys a sofa now they can have it. Prob end up selling the sofa i have paid for.
your right Mike Ashley is a crook and thief.
so unfortunately i cannot marh in and grab the sofa.

maybe go in a take goods to the value of the sofa and agree to exchange at a later date.Don't know if that is theft but they would send baliffs out if other way round.
