The SOURCE of the radioactivity has a predictable half life that will reduce its strength by half every time that period elapses. The thing exposed to it will receive a direct effect at the time but won't (normally) become radioactive itself. Certainly won't happen to humans undergoing medical treatment. The effects of the treatment AFTER it are due to biology, nothing to do with half life.
