I heard 'Wishing' on the wireless last week and it still sounds great after all those years, released in 1983!

Loved Wishing and Iran.
Weren't they once labelled as the ugliest band in Britain?

Rogues won that every year, Steely Dan ditto in America, just think nowadays a band like steely dan would never be heard because of counts like cowell and stock, airmen and Dennis waterman.

I'll see your Flock Of Seagulls and raise you "First Picture Of You" by The Lotus Eaters. Heard it last week for the first time in years and it still sounds fabulous.

I was relatively old, even back in the 80s, but this was my favourite song, possibly, before I lost interest, with the odd exception about 1985.

Johnny, love that song and that one as well kenny mann. No joking gents, I have 'Absolute 80's' played in my house morning, noon and night!
Here is a great song from that era by one of my favourite bands, Talk Talk.

Talk Talk (1984 Live in Montreux). This is the absolute nuts.

is that a radio or TV channel Slippy? I suspect radio, but I think there's a TV channel that plays just 80s stuff. Saw it in a pub a short while ago.

Found it, it's called Now 80s. 346 on Virgin. All the songs but the videos as well.

Best gig ever.

Last Friday before Christmas 1979; £2.50 to get in; and, best of all, A Flock Of Seagulls had an argument on-stage while trying to tune up, and didn't actually play a set. The Bunnymen were the headliners on the night, complete with drum machine, not having recruited a drummer yet.

That was Camden's Electric Ballroom: Echo and the Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, Scritti Politti, A Flock of Seagulls and the Expelaires (from Leeds, quite decent).

I saw Flock of Seagulls live at Hammersmith Odeon circa 1980.  They were supporting Squeeze.

Terry, I absolutely love Talk Talk, they have done some brilliant songs that I often play. If they ever reformed and did a comeback tour it would be a massive sell out but the lead singer, Mark Wallis, wasn't interested in being in the band from the 90's onwards.

'Life's What You Make It' is another very fine tune by them.

Gaviscon, it's forum etiquette to actually say what the links are, I don't open random links as a rule.
