I was due to pop down the beach yesterday afternoon where a music event was taking place but instead ending up watching that epic Stokes innings on my own With 70 odd runs needed and 1 wicket left i thought the game was up so after a couple of lunchtime pints decided to have a lie down but kept the radio on.Drifted off to sleep only to be awoken by my daughters phone call( thank goodness she DID ring me).Lept down the stairs to watch the game on the tele with England needing 30 odd runs to win to watch the drama unfold.
When Ben hit that winning boundary i unashamedly had tears running down my face as i stood to applaud the greatest innings since Botham's equally fantastic stanza in 81.Counting down the days until battle recommences at OT. |

It was MOM-U-MENTAL, may never happen again and fair play to the aussies,they knew they had witnessed something that was truly remarkable,maybe Sobers or Clive LLOYD in their pomp could have pulled that off but very,very few.

I'm not a big fan of his out of cricket, but damn he can play the game
 He can be a hot head I grant you, probably not the sort of bloke I'd have a drink with in the pub that's for sure, but as a cricketer? he's one of the best in the world and you can't argue that |
