Yeah unfortunately the purple place have a KYC now (in terms of my experience anyhow). Though oddly was allowed to join a certain owner of theirs with a red sign and access the exchange on their website with no KYC etc.

dave i had the same problem a few months back when my debit card expired i tried to change the old one for the new one.long number had changed on new card.i could not delete old card so i phoned them up and was told because there was more deposits than withdrawals on the card making a minus net profit.they required photo of my account showing a betfair transaction on the account the new card was registered to. i kicked off a little and said just close the account then as its the same account i have used on here since i joined only renewing a new card because of expiry of old card.after some back and fourth and because the minus net deposit was only minimal he eventually did it for me.so thats what happened to me

well nellie all my cards have changed to contactless and none of the numbers have changed.  Also there would be plenty more complaining if all card numbers were changing for everyone (and also betfair would be aware and not using there standard policy).

smarkets take your money if they go busto - betfair holds customer money in a separate trust

quite a lot of firms are like that the lol gambling commission calls it "basic protection" but in reality it isn't any protection at all.

If you wanna bet just before the off the purple one is best, if you're trying to get some moneys on early then you're more likely to get matched on smarkets. Different exchanges for different needs.

Like 97% of Betfair punters, I use the exchange in conjunction with a lot of other bookies.
Hardly anyone is "loyal" to a brand, we just go to the best proposition.
PPB have always enticed customers to their fixed-odds platform away from the exchange. They can hardly complain now if their golden goose has stopped laying so frequently.

dave ,what bank give you the same numbers for 8 years?
By:
brassneck
When: 03 Aug 18 22:58
this is the message  i got from the bank.=Please note that your new card has a new 16 digit number, new, valid from expiry dates, and a new CVV security number on the reverse.
if you have existing card registered with websites you will need to update those websites with new card details'
" now every website on the internet know all about this change except betfair as far as i can see."
By:
brassneck
When: 03 Aug 18 23:07
it also says that the old debit card will still work for approximately 30 days .and half these 30 days are gone,as i say time is running out fast and betfair are still sitting on their hands and doing nothing except asking for a photo of the bank account, and as i say a letter of authenticity from the bank is not good enough for them.

santander is my bank and I'm not disputing that your number has changed, merely that it is connected to contactless and that it is something every bank is doing.

And just get a copy of your bank statement, black out any transactions except betfair - leaving the name, address and account number.

I renewed my card last week - expired end of July.

The 16th digit had changed along with the cvv.  Entered the details to my account, null problem.

What's with all this photo ID malarkey?  Never heard of such a thing in here - or any other betting a/cs for that matter.

Also to add, removed all funds to my old card before I renewed.

dave, they already have a copy of my bank statement from when i opened the account, its not me they are refusing ,its the card that they are not happy about, and the bank will not give me my old numbers, the bank has also advised not to give anyone details of my bank account, and tell me nobody should ever ask for them, and its against the law to store someone's bank details.
By:

When: 04 Aug 18 12:05
well trilby good luck to you, three different betfair help desk operators told me i can not register my replacement card unless they get a screen shot of my bank account and their are no exceptions to this rule.(thats what they say)

How can it be "against the law", if it's on the governments proof of address/identity checklist?

Bank, Building Society or Credit Union statement or passbook dated within the last three months

BF's ads never mention the laying part of what they offer. So they're perceived as just another bookie. They just go on about 'better odds'. It's a tired mantra.

I think the laying is perceived as a bit naughty (and open to a lot of corruption) so has never really become mainstream in the world of the average punter.

Huge liquidity remains in cricket markets. Not sure what was matched on this Test v India but would have been 10s of millions. IPL will be 50m a game.
