The main reason given by the judge is no chance of a success which contradicts totally against BBC's assertion. Maybe those responsible at the BBC for this foolish and nonsensical decision to appeal would like to consider paying for it for themselves - their combined salaries would go some way towards it - and also the fee incurred by the lawyers of Sir Cliff Richard which the BBC have agreed to pay.

What a bunch of egoistic numpties at the BBC!

The BBC top executives have finally come to their senses - they are NOT appealing against the judgement meted out by a judge about Sir Cliff Richard. I think those involved ought to be sacked or forced to accept early retirement; they do not represent or reflect the feelings or opinions of the general public and licence payers.

It's only cost 'em 2000+ license fees . Why not chuck a few more at it ? It's not like the people who made these unlawful decisions are gonna have it taken out of their pockets is it ? Angry

At the BBC it is a well known fact it is more important who you know (or related to) than your professional ability in determining your longevity at the Corporation; doors will be opened with a nudge, and will remain open; a doh-doh connected to a high profile relation at the worst instance would be shifted upstairs or sideways to remain on the gravy train till pensionable age - a job for life.

P----s at the BBC are so desperate to STILL try and pretend they were right in this they had some guy from that joke of a newpaper "the I" to say this was a bad day for press freedom! I await their stout leftie defence of people talking about all these cases like the Huddersfield one, the cases the BBC never like to talk about...

Press freedom? Press harassment and smearing I think he meant to say.

I need to get up for work and I can't drag myself away from Neil Diamond on Youtube

That would explain Claudia Winkleman being one of their highest paid females.

Oops that was Divas comment on the neil Diamond thread. Blush
I'll try again

^ Feck me, just seen who her mum is.  Aye, one big, happy, incestuous, Lefty family is the Beeb all right!
Report the bloob August 16, 2018 9:49 AM BST
who does Claudia know at the Beeb? or who is she related to?

I know it's surprising that she is the highest female earner given how poor she is and what she actually does is very little (Strictly and what else?)

or maybe it's Claudia's heritage that gets her the big pay packet? plenty running things at the Beeb of similar background
Report lovegod August 16, 2018 11:39 AM BST
She's the daughter of journalist Eve Pollard who used to get a few gigs on the beeb.
