not just diane abbott , and labour in parliament against death penalty....
odd case, i doubt anybody really cares what happens to them after the crimes they have carried out. if they were in some other country where they faced death penalty there may well be less of an outcry. i suspect they knew the risks when carrying out their crimes. i hope they get a fair trial, .... |

Plenty of MP's on both sides of the house called the decision shameful. Don't get me wrong.I would prefer the scum to avoid the death penalty and be forced to live whatever is left of their lives in a US prison. Death is too good for them. What the Home Secretary is doing is wrong though even though they deserve to die.

Here's news of Abbott's latest disgraceful antics. "Abhorrent and shameful" indeed.
It is a terrifying thought that this chancer could be Home Secretary. . https://order-order.com/2018/07/23/diane-abbott-drops-bogus-ipso-complaint/ |

before they were captured they would have been targets for british drones to kill them.
execute em and martyrs are created, jail em and some nutter will use them as a chip and will seek their freedom by doubtful means we should continue to oppose death penalty , ... |

I doubt anyone of integrity could bring themselves to ask America to spare them the death penalty.

I don't know anyone who likes Diane Abbott, or thinks she should have her job!
Personally I rarely, if ever agree with anything she says. But posting stuff from the Mail isn't good, posting stuff from 'Guido Fawkes' is even worse, it's partly the choice of reading that makes this forum the "think-tank" it now is. She isn't alone in opposing the death penalty, the other MP's who say the same aren't being quoted because Abbott is good press. lfc. Have you considered taking up American citizenship or applying to move there (become an immigrant), given you think everything American is so great? |

Tories softening the nation up in preparation of a pro-death penalty ticket - so as to get the Deplorables on board a la Trump

So why might Mr Javid take this decision, in apparent breach of long-standing British policy?
He says in his letter he has "strong reasons" for not seeking any assurances. He does not say what these reasons are. But he suggests that this case is "distinct" because the two fighters of British origin - part of the so-called "Beatles group" - are accused of kidnapping and murdering UK and US citizens, how they are treated will be an example to others, and there is a need to deliver justice to their victims' relatives. But none of this explains why Mr Javid might want to risk the political backlash that will follow any decision to weaken Britain's opposition to the death penalty. Perhaps the real motivation is the government's desperation to avoid having to try these two men in Britain. They are currently being held in northern Syria by the Syrian Democratic Forces. They have been stripped of their UK nationality. From the BBC report. Surely that last sentence is relevant here. Or am I wrong in assuming that we would only ask for leniency when British citizens are involved. |

This, I'm afraid, is just symptomatic of what is wrong with British Governments of the last thirty years. Outsourcing has gone too far.
Try them here, hang them in Trafalgar Square. |

I watched the debate in Parliament yesterday - indicative of just how out of touch they are.
I get the legal argument, the precedent argument, the martyrdom argument, all of that. But to see people appointed to represent the people arguing lest these scumbags be harmed by Uncle Sam was simply disgusting. |
|
By:
plenty of kudos to be earned amongst the mps with the liberal thinking people
unfortunately they would have no idea how to defend the people coz they are not really interested in doing that got to hurry off and get those expense claims in |
|
By:
first off, they were stripped of their British citizenship, so they have no rights.
secondly, and more importantly, they are terrorist scum, so human rights don't apply death sentence fully deserved IMO, and I'm fully in favour when it comes to the worst scum on the planet (terrorists, child killers, and pedos) but, the islamist nutters are a special case, because they want to be martyrs. So in their case, I would just keep them based up for life, and have them endure daily (public) humiliation(that is their worst nightmare) |

By:
hope they execute a day after finding them guilty..........not this 12 years on death row..........torture them first

It amazes me that those who have no regard for human rights are then defended by those who do. As for me, fxxk em ! Death penalty or life in a US jail within the general prison population (Same outcome) As for Abbott

denzil think they should be let back in the country and be rehabilitated in to society

I think life in jail in an American prison would be a better call than the death penalty. I do understand why people would want them to be executed and I am not averse to it for them but I think what The Home Secretary has done is very dangerous. There is a Tory MP asking for the Laws on treason to be changed and that is dangerous and misguided. We are nearly at the 200th Anniversary of the Peterloo massacre. Were the victims there treasonous? Some were jailed!
