This the sort of dark farce that can happen when people in authority go along with the ludicrous notion that men are actually women.

First thing I read about those so called parents was "We don't want to influence our child in any way"
FFS that's the whole point of parenting.

In some langages this is of course true. German has Der and Das and Die, it has a neutral gender.

Od course if you say to a snowflake they should go look up "Die" in a dictionary you'll be accused of a hate crime!

OK, but the third gender in German is usually reserved for nouns, NOT humans!

timbuc, little girls can be called Das Mädchen.

I once asked someone about that and the answer i got was that the three genders are associated with the words, not what the words represent. So Der Tisch(Table) makes the word Tisch masculine, but doens't mean a table has a masculine gender. Similarly das mädchen makes the word mädchen gender neutral, but doens't mean a little girl is gender neutral.

Haven't got a clue if the above is true or not.

Well that's what makes the genders such a nonsense. The exact same things might be male in one language female in another.

If the German army hadn't got bogged down in an argument discussing the correct gender for T34 tank, they'd have won Stalingrad.

timbuc, little girls can be called Das Mädchen.

Of course, because `Madchen` is a noun, as referred to. But that`s not the same as understanding the German third gender to somehow suggest there are three genders to the human condition; not even in `Cabaret`-era Berlin!
