I did hear a discussion on 5live. Apparently police stopped the Loyalists burning some huge bonfires on safety grounds so they set fire to busses etc instead. It is their day for bonfires apparently and they don't seem fussy about what they burn. Lunatics on both sides imo.
Impressive bonfires imo don't see anything like that for Guy Fawkes night
Police have fired plastic baton rounds during one of the worst nights of violence in Londonderry for years.
Seventy-four petrol bombs and two improvised explosive devices were thrown at officers on Thursday - the sixth consecutive night of violence.
The police said children as young as eight were involved and accused dissident republicans of being behind the attacks.
Three men were arrested, one of them for attempted murder.
The PSNI said the six nights of violence had seen two separate attempts to murder officers.

Even Gerry Adams house was firebombed.
In a direct appeal to those who attacked his home, he said: "I'd like them to sit down and explain to me what this is about.
"I'd like those who are involved in exploiting children in Derry to do the same thing, or those who are poisoning the atmosphere in east Belfast and causing havoc to do the same thing."
He said those responsible were "resistant to change" and the groups that had stepped away from the peace process saw Sinn Féin as the enemy.

Can’t think of any sensible person who doesn’t like a bonfire , they have them in Lewes
Let them have their bonfires , with any kind of wood and then in the morning there is ash and where there is ash there is actually nothing at all
