just a hellish catastrophe. i was living in Aberdeen when it happened, still do,  it was like the world stopped turning, everyone was just numb .
difficult remembering just how awful that was.
everyone knew someone involved, everyone seemed to be affected. i'm getting a bit over emotional but it was very grim.

Working in an insurance underwriting office at the time- just remember the panic and worried looks on the senior managers faces, as they were attempting to find out what the liability was. The senior underwriter didn't have a clue!

It killed the yuppie growth as well as the poor souls onboard. Had a friend at football who used to brag about his new found income. Soon came down to earth when the roles reversed and he had to pay. Kept his home by the skin of his teeth.
