I can however report that both Sweden and Germany's fans at the event look exactly like they always have. 

No sign yet of any of the millions of cultural enrichers in the stands wearing Sweden/Germany replica shirts. Clearly the transfomation to supporting the football team of the country that gave you refuge is taking a little time. There's a surprise.

Saw a maybe 3 year old arabian boy waving a tiny German flag, singing "allemagne, allemagne" enthusiastically at the station on Thursday. It was super adorable.

There's a 20 pound ferry that will take you from France to England with no questions asked at border control(if it exists at all). My guess is they all went to the UK to join their brethren and live in an english speaking country. I'll keep an eye on today's game.

But you'd be better off enjoying the games instead of looking for the cultural enrichers. There'll be enough time to whine about them later.
