I’m sure we’d all agree that we need lots more prosecutions like this. Preferably with the defendants having to show their faces in court at all times, rather than inexplicably being allowed to dress in some ludicrous garments that covers the face. For all we know, it could be some bloke underneath.

No doubt there’s still plenty of time for some Chancer Human Rights Lawyers to find a means of stalling the court’s decisions by way of some spurious appeal, and add to the burden of the taxpayer.

Ah now I understand. I didn't know enough about this case to know that the outcome was inexplicable - what do you think it was that caused 2 or 3 of the "good persons and true" to have doubts?

What would help enormously though is a completely transparent and in-depth report explaining why the taxpayer has shelled out all this money on a trial with farcical outcome. As a minimum the report should detail the judge's views on prosecution/defence cases, witness evidence, and jury debate. No-one should be spared the full spotlight of scrutiny. The jury were tasked with ONE responsibility, yet seemingly failed to deliver it.
