Frasier - a tear in the eye today

Frasier is an absolutely brilliant comedy show as is "Raymond".Never get bored watching either although i must have watched them many many times over.

Frasier is one of the few comedies I could watch any episode over and over and not get bored.

I could watch the first half of any episode but hated the inevitable descent into farce after the commercial break.

I love Frasier, every element, particularly the great farcial element.

The episodes with Daphne's brothers in are excruciatingly bad(accents & acting) imo

Frasier, Cheers and ELR were brilliant at the start, with sharp writing, wit and observational comedy. However they went downhill towards the end in a cheesy, whimsical way and the writers had no idea how to conclude the final series. Although I watched all the Frasiers first time round, I stop these days as soon as Niles and Daphne get married. The last episode of Frasier was particularly pathetic and it is clear to me that all three programmes went on for  a couple of series too long. However, all three beat any Brit sitcoms hands down. Just my opinion though.

I agree that the episodes with Daphnes brothers and also her mum were awful in the context of how good the rest of it was.
I also thought the series improved in series three when they decided to play down the silly concept of Daphne's premonitions.

However, I thought the double episode that concluded the final series was excellent, as it closed it off cleanly (so many american series just get dropped when the ratings fall) and with the twist (spoiler alert!) of Frasier going to Chicago to be with his woman and not to San Fransisco as was the premise of the story.
And I love the fact that, after 11 series, the removal man that delivered Martin's chair in episode 1 was the same actor as removed it in episode 273! It's little touchhes like that that made it so damn good.
