Out of interest. Do you actually find ANYONE funny?
Perhaps some senses of humour have dissipated as the earnestness of current obsession has taken over. Just a thought.

There is a touch of irony in your post SF. Actually has got me laughing out loud.
Maybe Foxy will learn and post next time "About as funny as Studyform."

I love Eddie Izzard and have all his dvd's before he went political, i liked Frankie Boyle until he sold his soul.
Also like Rich Hall & Reginald is my fav before he went all bbc.
Like the aussie with the hair, cant remember his name. The irish canadian bird is funny too.
How about you ?

As it happens, my comment/question wasn't aimed at you 2 specifically, so was perhaps a little curt. It was more that I notice the general moaning about just about every comedian/comic who appears on TV and as always the associated 'lefty' stuff so prevalent on the forum.
Akabula, good of you to take the opportunity to join in. My quietness was caused by my going to bed. I hadn't realised you wanted me to stay up!
I put together a very long and totally subjective list of comedians and comics a few years ago (and have occasionally updated it, though not for a few years now). It's in need of an overhaul now, as so many new people have come along. It rates hundreds of comics with MY OWN mark out of 10. Perhaps I can resurrect it if you really want to know who I find funny. The list is actually quite long.

I watched about 15 minutes of Tracy. I didn't laugh once, or even smile.
The impersonations are very good though.
God knows how she got another series after the last one.

For the record, I find Lee Mack consistently the best. I also like Rich Hall, Henning the German, Lee Nelson, Rhod Gilbert, Sean Lock.
Must be some good up and coming comedians. James Acaster was good.
Maybe the comedians list can be reprieved.

I've never found her to be entertaining personally, she did Three Of A Kind back in the day and that was decidedly mediocre I thought. Having said that it's not easy to pick out a very amusing comedienne. I did see Rita Rudner many years ago when she was the warm up act for Emo Phillips and can vaguely recall her dry wit being funny iin parts, I was off my face though at the time so that may have had something to do with that opinion.Emo was absolutely brilliant though, he had the theatre in stitches all night.

Like Harry Enfield/Paul Whitehouse, Tracey Ullman is clever rather than funny. I think it has moments, but like so many impersonators, it's about the copy and not necessarily the Joke. I have to agree about Emo Phillips, btw.
I think I might do an updated repost of the comedians. That'll create some arguments again.
Akabula - "Wotchoo talkin' 'bout Willis?" I meant Sonko, not you. (me being quiet). My error, sorry.

Lee Hurst is funny but because he is not a pc lefty he is now banned from aljabeeba, Ullmans sketch with Hezbollah, Gerry Adams and Hamas was quite funny and she will probably be banned from beeb if she repeats it.

Tracey Ullman was really good I thought when she first came on the scene, what 40 years ago was it? Good singing voice and then went into comedy and then very quickly got the Hollywood call and she was very popular with American audiences (sitcoms). Definitely talented, but as with so many other comedians these days, needs a decent script.
Now, Eddie Izzard - again, great when he follows a script (stand up shows were great), but in real life when he does things like 'Question Time', I thought he was bit lost with his answers to questions and not convincing at all. Also, now he's a member of the labour party I haven't seen him being interviewed once. I'm just wondering if any serious interview with him would be so embarrassing due to the fact that he would be wearing women's clothes. I know we are told to be accepting towards that sort of thing these days, but it's still embarrassing nonetheless, which is why maybe he's been kept out of the limelight.
Lee Mac is probably my favourite at the moment. Brilliant at ad libbing and very quick on the uptake in shows like 'Would I Lie To You'. Also, 'Not Going Out' is very well written in my opinion.
I like the Milton Jones' one liners. Tickles my simplistic sense of humour maybe.
But there is a new and up and coming young comedian called Stephen Tries who I think should be given a chance. Has some great sketch ideas which can be seen on his YouTube channel. He's too terrified to do stand up at the moment, but is slowly building up courage towards that end. I hope he's successful. He's a good lad.

Probably unknown in England but the late Chic Murray was a very funny man and supposedly the inspiration for Billy Connolly,a recent play about him sold out 2 weeks in advance.
