A true legend in the boxing world.

Trained 4 world champions from his gym in Sheffield,

Awarded an MBE for services to his adopted city of Sheffield rather than boxing I seem to remember.

The boxing world is a lot poorer this evening.

The Noble Art of Self Defence!

What  a load of old pony! You see so many boxers who just want to hit someone and to be fair we love it but some of Ingle's boys were proper pugilist's!

Herol Graham and Prince Naseem were my two particular favourites and the finest exponent's of Ingle's style. He was a real decent geezer by all accounts. Heard a story where he was cleaning the path outside his gym and one of his boxer's spat on the pavement. He just looked at the lad who apologies to him immediately because he knew he had let Brendan down.

Yep defence was his big thing.
Dont get hurt first and foremost.

Naseem was marmite but Brendan seemed to like him.

I know it sounds like film stuff but he really did take kids off the streets.

Eubank always said he wouldn't fight Graham as there was no point as he wouldn't be able to lay a glove on him.

Sad News he was a Top Man but I hated that Hands Down style that Graham and Naseem had.

Dusty, he was unselfish, and when England needed his help he answered the call.

The Government of the day saw fit to give the Football Association perhaps up to 160 million of Tax Payer Money to help build Wembley Stadium. Perhaps if they gave some of that to men and women like Brendan Ingle the World would be a better place.

We remember the likes of Naseem and Graham and plenty of others but how many went through his gym and became decent young men who could box? I dare say thousands.

Just watched a hard nose ex Boxer Johnny Nelson on our News ( Calendar ) reminiscing about Brendan  with tears in his eyes and rolling his cheeks - its Brendans Funeral next week . The love these Boxers had for this little Irishman was unfounded, some of them looked upon him as their real Dad.Lets hope a Statue is erected in his Honour.

Never heard a bad word about Brendan Ingle. I remember some great fights and exhibitions with Bomber Graham, not doing too well now i believe.
