same old rhetoric from the president as well - these shootings will keep happening and they'll keep saying the same old thing, trying to kid themselves that the USA is not a complete mess

it's getting so commonplace now we are blase about it. oh another shooting. just an everyday occurrence now. it's not even shocking anymore. people will eventually all become numb to it. when people stop crying about it that's when you've got to worry because humans will have that much ptsd they aren't even shocked by it any more and are just numb. "oh well we'll rebuild". there are darker times coming, people.

One of the murdered girls was Pakistani exchange student Sabika Sheikh.

Her family back home in Karachi must have been thinking she'd got the good end of the exchange.

Why would you kill people you don't know and therefore have no grievance against?

Because you're in the army now..

Sean Hannity has the answer guys

https://www.mediamatters.org/video/2018/05/18/following-texas-high-school-shooting-sean-hannity-calls-government-monitor-every-students-social/220256

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): It's not a gun issue. Every time it happens, the worse -- it's always a different gun. So that's not the issue here. The issue here -- well, there is some issues with gun safety, you can't let mentally ill people have guns. Criminals don't obey the laws by their very nature. We also have to have, every school district needs to have some person that monitor's every kid's social media postings, maybe they need two people. This is a reality now that they're telegraphing what they're going to do. Terrorists do it. These school shooters do it.

Sean Hannity has two points of some interest.

First, he says mentally ill people should not have guns. Last year President Trump revoked an Obama measure to extend background checks for mental illness before buying guns.

Second, schools should monitor social media posts. I don't know but I'd be surprised if there are not already computers doing this to identify terrorists. If so, it could be extended to school shootings. You'd still need human evaluation but that could be centralised.

anyone who believes those figures by Donny will believe anything

for a start there are about 30,000 suicides every year in Japan
By:
lfc1971
When: 20 May 18 19:46
Maybe 40,000 in America
In Japan they don’t have guns, in America they do
How many America suicides were by gun, take that off the total

And how many Japanese suicide were not by gun , but would have been

Now that’s just a start , they are other factors to subtract from America’s gun deaths also
Completely false numbers

There is no point quoting numbers if you don’t understand numbers

Start with how many murders by gun, not suicide. not police killing of villains , not accidents , not gang warfare
Murders of innocent people , go ahead .....

lfc - as you know sources for this data are multiple and various.  But here's one that purports to be for 2015.  You'll no doubt have better and more up to date info.

"Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the U.S. gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher.[12] Although it has half the population of the other 22 nations combined, the U.S. had 82 percent of all gun deaths, 90 percent of all women killed with guns, 91 percent of children under 14 and 92 percent of young people between ages 15 and 24 killed with guns.[12]"

Blackburn that’s not murder of innocent people , that is gang related deaths
America has gang murders due to the very make up of its society , similar to Brazil and Mexico and Honduras etc
There is no point in saying that America is a rich country, no it’s not
Not any more so than Brazil or Mexico and it has the same gang land problems

Now I asked murder of innocent people  ...

doubt it, going by these 2 in particular.

90 percent of all women killed with guns, 91 percent of children under 14

Why not ?

How many women killed in Japan , without guns ?

lfc - leaving aside your view that gang related deaths cannot by definition be "innocent people", please quote any of the stats you have read that inform your view.

As I said the source of date on this subject is multiple and various.  How about quoting some that you agree with, instead of just dis'ing others views.

Blackburn I don’t know the figures , but what I do know is how to understand figures when I see them
By:
blackbarn
When: 20 May 18 20:30
So to repeat, which set of figures are you relying on, in order to understand them and form your apparently solid view on the subject??

If I understand your assertion correctly; It is that gun related homicide of "innocent" people is no worse in the USA than in other large/developed countries.

Do I describe your position correctly?
