What is my ROI?

all stakes 1 point
Report i_agree_with_nick May 13, 2018 11:58 AM BST
Isn't it just 1335/1121 = 19%?
Report kenny mann May 13, 2018 12:07 PM BST
well, that's what i got, but the person claiming those amazing returns says 105%
Report DenzilPenberthy May 13, 2018 12:13 PM BST
It'll be a 2pt on this 4pts on that 1pt on that etc.
Only genuine way is money bet vs money returned = % profit on stakes
Report i_agree_with_nick May 13, 2018 12:15 PM BST
Imo, the ROI figure of 19% is correct, in so much as that is the one used in betting circles. However, it's misleading as it's the same money being turned over more than once and you don't know the time period.

The most meaningful figure is the growth (or shrinkage) of the size of one's bank. Perhaps that's what he's referring to.

Always confusing thisCrazy   Strictly Return on Investment should be the total return including stake over the total original stake, expressed as a percentage. It is though quite common for people to use the term when simply measuring % profit on investment.

that's a point DP, I assumed level staking but maybe not. Anyway cheers chaps, going for a beer or 2 now.

no need to rub it in kennethGrin, yes hard game to survive for sure
Report i_agree_with_nick May 13, 2018 3:13 PM BST
Actually, Dave's right; an improbable 119%. I was thinking that the 1335 was total returns and therefore 19%.
Report kenny mann May 13, 2018 3:27 PM BST
hang on though, you invest £1121 (level £1 stakes) and you get £2456 back (points profit plus stakes)

So isn't that a ROI of over 100%?
Report i_agree_with_nick May 13, 2018 3:31 PM BST
Yes, Kenny - 119%.

I was saying Dave's right and I was wrong. I didn't realise it was a total return of £2456
Report kenny mann May 13, 2018 3:32 PM BST
oh 119%. was thinking dave had put 19%, cheers.Happy
