you didn’t manage to reply without more nonsense did you detraveller ?

Let me take you slowly through this

There is a law  but that law has been in existence forever

Police  in the recent past were able to pursue moped criminals

They don’t now , why not ?

Not strictly true, I saw footage of a met

Police car chasing a reported stolen

moped only the other day, there may be

guidelines about not chasing those where

the rider is not wearing a helmet.
By:

When: 08 Jun 18 07:26
Yes but of course there may be new guidelines

that is just the point , the police in the very recent past and back over the many years before that , were able to pursue mophed criminals

But not now , why not is the question

lfc is correct;police don't chase moped scumbags in case they cause the moped to crash and the riders are injured/killed thus leaving the pursuers open to being charged for not carrying out risk assessments etc/causing injury or death...you couldn't make it up. Just put the little bug gers down and have done with it.

Hmmm, villains who think nothing of taking risks, up against Police who have to make risk assessments before deciding whether to do what they are paid for. What could possibly go wrong.

The footage i saw of the chase was very recent, i am still not sure that they ( police ) have been told not to chase.

detraveller the existing law that you say has been in place for many years...does not exist

lfc1971 • June 6, 2018 7:21 PM BST
I am afraid detraveller that law is neither here nor there

lfc1971 • June 8, 2018 7:26 AM BST
Yes but of course there may be new guidelines

Lfc, be nice for a change and accept this time it was you talking nonsense?

The day when all the police are armed draws nearer.

The first obstacle to overcome is the fuss that is made after a criminal is shot by a policeman. Where the police officer is suspended while an enquiry takes place.

This is unacceptable and puts the police officer in the dock for doing his job.
A quick judgement should be made by the officer's commanding officer in these cases and settled on the spot, with little of this suspension business and long-winded enquiries.

We're at the point where police officers are reluctant to carry firearms because of the above.

ah detraveller now you are getting there , slowly

You now understand that there is no new law

That the law as I said was in place when the police were able to chase mophed crime in the past
And therefore the law is neither here nor there

But the guidelines as I have been trying to explain to you have been changed in some way
And fairly recently

The question remains why ?

Take your time again detraveller and try not to come back with any more nonsense
By:

oh and yes the existing law that you said was in place never existed
because it was something that existed only in your head
There is the existing law which does exist and always did exist and the imaginary law in your head

Don’t confuse one with the other

I long for the day when a bunch of them wade into a recently retired Para who has an axe to grind. Ohhh yes, come the day. Sooner or later one of them's gonna find himself in some serious trouble.
By:

This was the question , why have the police failed to continue to pursue criminals on mopheds ( the law hasn’t changed )
What has been the reason for the change in police policy , if it isn’t the agenda of the leftists and luvvies and possibly others of that ilk ?
I don’t know
By:
lfc1971

you certainly couldn’t blame people with views like ericster for this change in policy

Who do you blame detraveller ? tell us please

Power corrupts, so in my view the answer is not to give the police 'more powers'. Just use the existing powers as they should be used.

No one respects the police any more, and due to the scrutiny they receive they have become ineffective except in cases that only offend people's feelings.

Not cynical enough. It is more likely to deflect criticism as figures are published showing under 5 per cent of burglaries and robberies are solved.

Has anyone considered the fact that it might the police themselves, or at least some rogue ones.

They know they are not going to be chased. They know the rules. And convictions/sentences probably count for nowt anyway.

For a closer look at some of the Criminal Thug Moped S**m Criminals,  this nauseating BBC documentary about them might prove useful.  You could barely see a finer example of the devastating and damaging effect of 'Diversity' on London, and the overt links to Africa and cross-border crime.

If ANYONE involved in the reporting, filming and reporting of this grotesque criminality has ANY scintilla of decency, they will ensure that all information accrued during the project about the criminals is passed on to the Met.

alun - thanks for the link. An incredible documentary.

Yes case - he's pretty good! He said he would need a rich sponsor to get into racing and it just made me think he would steal even more to get that money....

Yes Case, that's the one. The documentary ludicrously indulged his enjoyment of fast driving.

At no point were the criminals properly challenged, or asked to explain to the public why they believe they have such a massive sense of entitlement to the items they steal.

Not quite what I meant but.... it's been reported that "Moped gangs pose as police to trick motorists into pulling over" - Evening Standard / internet.

Just waiting for actual report of rogue police now. LOL

Moped muggers who rob people of their watches, jewellery and mobile phones are funding extravagant summer holidays on “party islands” like Ibiza and Cyprus, the Telegraph can reveal.

...

The latest Metropolitan police crime figures show a seasonal pattern to moped related crimes.

From 2012 to 2017, the late spring and early summer months all see a steady increase in the number of recorded offences committed by a criminals using a moped, scooter or motorcycle.

But, over that same period, every August experiences a marked drop in moped muggings and raids, with July often showing a similar decline.

It is understood that some robbers take August off to fly to Mediterranean party islands where entrance to the top clubs and DJ shows can cost hundreds of pounds.
