ok lads the party is over, they say the sun has 3.5 billion years left before it dies, and we better look for another planet or we will be burned up.this may be true, but they never talk about the elephant in the room.
and the elephant has a name called betelgeuse  a massive mother and a father of a star( that is a few hundred of our sun's would fit into) and is only 600 light years away from earth.now this monster is big, very very big and its on its death bed and will explode soon, very very soon, long long before or sun burns out,in fact its starting to break up into dust as i speak, now the radiation from it when it explodes will sweep the earth and we will all be doomed.my guess is that it has only one million years left, but research done in 2016 says it could blow its lid in 5000 years,so i think mankind would be better turning its attention to a radiation shield that would protect the earth instead of all this BS about beam me up scotty to a new planet,so i say we are all going to be" betelgeused "now i am off to look for dinosaurs,i wonder what happened to them 65 million years ago,now there is food for thought,?so guys time to repent the clock is ticking on betelgeuse 's arrival.this post is only brassnecks opinion and does not reflect the opinion of the science world.but they never listen to brass.Laugh

Betelgeuse exploded 599 years ago, the gamma rays are speeding towards us at the speed of light. Scared

,in fact its starting to break up into dust as i speak,

How does something gaseous break up into dust??!!

Betelgeuse is indeed due to go supernova but it could happen at any point in the next few thousand years.  On an astronomical scale that is imminent but unfortunately not on a human scale.  I hope it goes in my lifetime; it would be an incredible sight to see.

Brassy is owed a little poetic license for starting so many challenging threads.

i mean loads of interstellar dust, how does moisok expect to gamble in the middle of a radiation dust storm,it would be difficult to see the keyboard and you might back instead of laying with the cloud between your pc and your eyes.

I wonder why it hasn't all blown over here by now?
Report Foinavon • May 3, 2018 10:08 AM BST
The Sahara is a rich source of phosphate minerals which are apparently blown across the Atlantic and fertilise the Brazilian rainforest. I would like a little more blown on my allotment please (but not on my car). I'm not sure about the Betelgeuse dust and need more information from Brassy.
