Have you checked the outside drains?

Aspro Correct  sounds like it OS ,if you have ran a SANI SNAKE THROUGH AND THAT IS NOT CLEARING IT, IS BACKING UP FROM  OUTSIDE

May not even need that case. If it's a house then the pipe just comes through the wall and into a local drain, hardly any pipework at all. Perhaps a rat or similar has crawled up it?

It could run into the main waste though and then it gets tricky

Was the drain snake one of those feeble things, a couple of feet long? If that didn't work, you'll be needing something like this:

plunger.or use a wet sponge,put it in the sink where the stopper should be and pump it like you are pumping a guy who had a heart attack and you are trying to restart the heart.works wonders.do it now and come back and thank me.or you can use a wet tea towel.

If it's blocked underground and there is access they might be able to jet it or something. If it's blocked once it leaves your property and into street etc you might be able to get it done for free.

It could be far worse, I know two incidents where sewerage has backed up into property, at least this is just kitchen waste!

(That might be a clue though, what other pipes leave your building, are they on that side etc, where do they route).

It's always worth it to add tools to your armoury, and not begrudge spending 'a few bob', as you may well need them again in the future!

Are you on the ground floor, as the usual arrangement is just a short pipe from where the bend exits the wall, and into a gulley....

Last time I had to deal with one was at my son's place and, having first checked the "U-Bend", I dismantled the external pipe and
it was choked solid with rice!

Get outside with a set of rods and open up the drain cover, this is where all the fun starts, you might even get see some of your turds floating at the top.

Most kitchen sink pipes would go into an open grate outside before travelling to the soil drain. Shouldn't be much pipe to investigate if this is the case.

Pour acid down the sink.

If it's laid out as Saddo says then it should be an easy fix.

If it runs into a sh1t pipe then it will go straight down your main drain. As others have said, lift your manhole cover and investigate. If you can't see a blockage try rodding back towards your house. If you haven't got any rods then try pushing a hose pipe up there and see if anything dislodges.

get some proper caustic soda from a hardware shop (not the drain unblocker rubbish you find in supermarkets). pour some down the plug hole with some boiling water and wait a few hours then pour more boiling water down again.

Ring the Water Board and ask for their drain unblocker service. Guy comes round with a high pressure hose.
Doesn't cost much.

Hard to visualise what your set-up is here but A-T’s advice is prob the way to go.
To get maximum impact you need to take out as much water out form in front of your blockage as possible.
The more concentrated the caustic soda is the better.
But be warned it is very serious stuff.
If it shoots back at you it would be like the worst acid (although it is an alkali but just as nasty and I mean nasty) attack ever.

use a mop with a tight head on it and plunger the drain outside,that will release it if the blockage is in the outside drain.

1. Pour very hot but not boiling Water into the sink, wait for it to go down.
2. Leave for 10 minutes.
3. Unscrew the U bend part of the pipe, empty the remaining luke warm water in that part into the toilet.
4. Put a funnel into the standing pipe, you'd have to tilt it if you can.
5. Pour a cup full's worth of Baking soda through the funnel into the standing pipe.
6. Leave for 10 minutes.
7. Put the funnel back into the standing pipe.
8. Pour a cups full of White vinegar through the funnel into the standing pipe.
9. Screw the U bend part of the pipe back on.
10. Leave for 10 minutes.
11. Pour very hot but not boiling water into the sink.
12. Turn tap on to test results and/or rinse and repeat 1-12.

Thanks for the replies, didn't get round to even testing some of the advice as I managed to clear it

I poured some oust descaling liquid into the pipe after taking apart the section I could, then put it back on and poured in a kettles full of hot water, didn't work and then did it again, worked a bit, then before I went to bed, I took apart the section under the sink again and this time I sprayed half a bottle of Mr Muscle (Orange scent, removes soap, scum and grime) into it till the point where it started to flow back out, screwed it back together and left it over night, boiled a full kettles worth of water in the morning and poured it into the sink, bingo! flowed down freely and didn't come back up, now I don't have to wash up in the bathroom sink anymore

I love a happy ending.

A lot of sink blocks can be caused by fat congealing in the u-bend.

Just applying gentle heat with a hair drier will clear these.
