Children are not Children for a lot of 44 year olds like me ,they would have had Kids in their 20s .

Based on the tory destruction of society you arnt missing much.

For their argument was to own property was to become part of the community and to gain pride in your endeavours.

Well the increasing % of the population have now been forced out of that opportunity, and so rightfully could argue they arn't part of society now.

The mantra that got us here where collections of people are divided came about because of politics that told all to go out and tend your own desires and not give a damn of the impact on others.

Whenever I see a man with a woman who I think maybe is a thai bride they never seem happy, even if they have children with them.  I would go so far as to say that they seem unhappy.

Is it any wonder , a few months ago she was firing ping pong balls from her petulia into an audience,  Now she can fire rugby balls at them.

I couldn't agree more annie I was in Morrisons last week and saw a bloke that had to be 70 limping along with a walking stick and the young Thai girl he was with was just trundling along looking at her phone miserable as sin.
The lad that lives down the street from me is mid-late 40's and what most would consider 'normal',job,car,house etc and they live as a family older man-younger woman though you rarely see them but he's always out walking the dog.

When you think about it the girl with the old bloke would just be his carer tbh.

You would be in the washed-up 50+ woman market who's bored and kid/s have grown up....so yes but you need to know your market. Unlikely to find someone around your age without kids/partner.

My uncle was your age when he met his 50+ partner she doesn't look that old and they don't look an odd couple...they go on holidays , out every weekend etc.

He's presumably hating himself as he watches his life dissipate in a steady 9 to 5 job, while at the same time his colleagues exclude him from the badminton club owing to the lack of necessary social credentials (i.e. marriage to a librarian and plans for a family).

If you're convinced you're not going to be a catch for any Thelmas out there, then best ditch the Bob Ferris job and embrace your inner Terry Collier. Maybe go racing during the week, take the punting seriously, or just relax by the river with a fishing rod. If it's just a general loneliness, then go down the dog's home and walk a few mutts and adopt one. Whatever it takes, just stop wanting to be Bob Ferris.

Maybe they should try this arranged marriage malarkey?

Given that I think over half of marriages fail, and that 69% of second marriages also go for a burton, then stats generally are against the concept of matrimony.
Built on top of this is the fact that more and more people choose to be independent and/or want their own place (which could be an extension to the physics that all matter is slowly separating in the universe until which point nothing will exist)

The oft repeated modern terminology of ‘independent women’ has simply shown that women are as sick of men as men are of women.

On ‘loneliness ‘ then we can look to Epictetus for help on that one.
The term ‘loneliness’ is incorrect and is wrongly used to describe the actual negative association of being ‘unfulfilled’.
We can be lonely when not alone, and not lonely when alone, what is actually happening is boredom sets in, and in cases when this happens all that is required is to add impetus, that being whatever it is that interests you.

Now it’s quite possible that socialising with others is the thing you find stimulating, and if it is then you is fooked innit.

We have a flat which we rent out and a few years ago we had this older guy and his much younger thai woman with him. They stayed for a year and moved out when she had a kid, but relationship already seemed to be going South !

My wife was always very chatty and friendly with this thai woman and she said she hated having s:e:x with him.

So "thai women with older partners look unhappy" , well yes, maybe for the reason you said about being judged but other reasons too...... Don't want to sound too cynical but you buy a wife half your age and expect love and romance from the poor woman.

Conversely, if you sell yourself to a man twice your age, don't expect to enjoy it.

One of the main benefits to society of failed marriages is the redistribution of wealth that inevitably follows the break up of the family unit. A couple who say amass capital of £2m and then break up and form new relationships effectively results in the original capital being spread four ways instead of two. Extrapolate this over the population as a whole and one can see the massive redistribution which takes place upon marriage/divorce/remarriage.
